future top 20

I am curious to know what you guys think the dj mag poll would look like in 5 years from now or so.

i think it will look something like this:

1. Ferry Corsten
2. James Zabiela
3. A&B
4. Elevation
6. AvB
7. K&A
8. Blake Jarrell
9. Paul Van Dyk
10. Damian DP
11. Carl Cox
12. Deep Dish
13. Tiesto
14. Maor Levi
15. Jose Amnesia
16. Alex M.O.R.P.H.
17. Super8 & Tab (they'll probably make a group name up)
18. SVD
19. Sasha
20. Digweed ( yeh ik lol, but these two will take a while to come off the list i think, i also like to hope they'll come back strong)

i know its kinda screwed up, and its mostly made up of trance artists but i havent had time to relly think about it, i just curious to know what you guys think, and remember this list was made taking into consideration of the noobs that dont know the difference between beign a dj and a producer.

edit: ill post another one when i have more time to think about the facts involved.

there will be a lot more dj's by then, and some current one's may fade while up and coming one's may shine

It's going to be a long, sad five years

i really hope not. the only ones i'd want to see on there would be #1, #2, #11, #19, #20. the rest... not so much.

lol i actually wouldnt mind i'm very open minded, this was just a quick list taking the noob voting into consideration, of course i think guys like sean tyas and john askew and ottavani will be there.

I think your poll is unrealistic regardless.

You havent taken into account the number of fucking idiots that vote in these polls.

Such as the people that vote for producers that don't DJ, and those that vote for DJs because of one track they liked by that DJ.

IMO if it's a DJ poll then you should vote according to their DJing not their productions and how well they've been marketed.

Funny list. Some talent there. But if you have ever seen any of the top 10 guys spin, you would see that it also takes a certain on stage aura to cross over and alot of these guys are a little short on that. I dont see that trend changing in the next 5 years.

Posted by tiesto14 on Apr-13-2007 04:02:

Who cares? Except for maybe people who love shit that is popular, the ones who determine who is cool and who is not according to their Myspace friend's count.

I'm hoping to see Vadim Zhukov getting some recognition.

lol I see you think that minimal & tech-house are going to die. Sorry--no.

In lieu of my posts in the previous DJ Mag threads, but with a bit more added this time...

WHO FUCKING CARES WHO HAS THE MOST FANS!? THAT'S NOT WHAT MUSIC SHOULD EVER BE ABOUT!

They're pretty much at a peak right now, and the polls (TA and DJ mag) still have mostly pop trance jocks. The thing with these genres is that there's no collective worship of any one individual DJ. Those few who do care enough to vote just scatter their votes around.

How's it going trancepunkk?

Posted by weymouth on Apr-13-2007 16:07:

It'll look exactly how it does now

That's how it should be in all genres.
