A dj booth, or not a dj booth?

Was doing some image stuff for an agent at work, and came across this living room photo...and froze.

Is it a booth? Not a booth? Or am I just guilty of constantly fantasizing about record-slinging?

I'm going out on a limb and saying it's a DAW (digital audio worksation).
They keys are likely a MIDI controller for a digital synth, with what looks like a rack holding an interface and some outboard gear.

My guess, home studio.

I'm an audio engineer, not an audio psycic.

If I had to guess, that's his front of house system, he probably monitors through headphones during recording...either to a master track of his beds (drums, etc.) or to a click track. I don't see any near-field monitors so I can't be sure...but those giant boxes are not suitable recording monitors anyhow.
