review::::BARATO & BUTTON @ O Ultra
lol ....fucken jigsaw puzzle
pretty sick fuck'n night!!! the beats were amazing (thanks to button & barrato)... the crowd was much older then the usual o lounge crowd, but that made it that much better.
i worked the door the first half of the night, but once we reached capacity, i went upstairs to tear it up a bit. loved every minute of it.
thanks to everybody that came down from TO to party in our neck of the woods. the outfits were amazing. i would say at least 80% of the club came decked out in red & black. good to see. overall... a good night! no complaints.
here are my pics:

thanks to everyone that came down last night. i had an absolute blast. great seeing familiar faces in my neck of the woods, aswell as a bunch of new ones. untill next time!
i had a blast... thanx 2 the Torontonions that came out and i hope 2 see more famaliar faces at Tall Paul 2night...
bus fiasco - this is likely on the qew, doing 120 km/hr blasting the roaches.
crowd shot around midnight - hit capacity shortly after.
awesome.
button mafia.

I had so much fun with this whole experience. Riding on a school bus to Hamilton with 40 of the craziest mofo's in Toronto and blasting tunes was fun enough, but the event itself was nothing short of outstanding.
I had a blast playing to so many friends, and was thrilled to be playing alongside Nathan. After I finished up, he came on and did a phenomenal job closing things out. His last hour was amazing.
O'Lounge as a venue is awesome. Tight and intimate, cool balcony looking over the entire club. The staff was great (except for the bartender who greeted me at the door by tearing my old Sonic business card in half and throwing it on the ground. WTF?) Owen and Mark did a great job organizing, and you can tell they are in it for the right reasons. Thank you to everyone who came out to support - you guys made the party!
lol. is that Cuzo I see with an Emilio Estevez haircut?

Didn't know what to expect going into this, but I have to say, I had a fantastic time! So much fun on the bus & great vibes all night long. The calibre of people who came out for this were all top notch! Loved the venue... perfect for the size group we were. Sound system was quite good & the tunes were outstanding.
The opening DJ really impressed me... got me going from zero to a hundred in less than 60 seconds! No warm up time required on this night.
Then, just when I thought I couldn't dance any harder, Jeff's set took me to an all new level. Holy crap Jeff!! I just can't help but be amazed on how fucking good you've become... it was an absolutely mind-blowing set! Joe & I were in complete awe & couldn't stop dancing if we wanted to... and with the exception of the occasional "OMG, this is so fucking good glance", we didn't even stop to talk to a soul the entire time! You certainly had our number on Saturday night and the road ahead looks to be a bright one! Keep up the great work!
And last but not least, there was Nathan Barato. I have only seen Barato spin twice before and enjoyed him both times & Friday was no different. He's definitely a veteran at this art not to mention one hell of a nice guy! So down to earth... can't help but love that!
Thanks to all who helped put this together... it was tonnes of fun! And thanks to all the fantastic people who made the night so special for us... you know who you are!
p.s. Did anybody get a CD?

OMG we had the best time on this trip!
At one point, on the bus on the way there, I turned to Adam and said, 'who the fuck has more fun than us?' haha no-one is the answer to that.
O lounge is a beautiful space, perfectly suited to our little soiree!
Jeff and Nathan rock my world and apart from my sweetie having a bad tummy, we had a wonderful time. Roll on Friday!! Round 2 in Toronto.
Well that's it, I can officially say that I have a new benchmark for fun and partying.
The bus trip out to Hamilton was a bloody riot. I say we don't do enough of these style events. As the bus loaded up everything seemed pretty tame and I was a little concerned. My concern faded quickly beacause as soon as the wheels started turning the whole crew erupted into a mass of dancing, joints, liquor and tunes...a good omen for the shitshow to follow. Perhaps next time we get a map for the driver, although it was hilarious crouching on the stairs, drinking rye and giving directions...the blind leading the blind...
I was fluttering along before we got to the club, so I knew it was going to be a good time.
So we get to Hamilton, unload and make our way down the block to O. I don't know why, but I almost had more fun watching the team walk down the street, everyone buzzing with anticipation, than I did the whole night inside. I just get a real kick out of seeing that. I seriously believe that we could have more fun in an empty room than most people will at a great show. We get to the door, and while it sucked that they were only allowing 3 in at a time, it seemed like the whole team was inside in no time. I grabbed a drink, made the rounds, took the tour and then proceeded to shake my money-maker.
Great venue, just the right size for what was going on and the balcony was a nice option if you just needed a minute to chill out and talk. The decor was very trippy, the booth was in a great spot and I liked having it elevated that little bit. The sound was suprisingly great - good level and a nice distribution over the spectrum. No crunchy low-end or strident highs that I noticed. The lights could use a kick up, but it's a really great venue. Temperature was perfect, although the windows were kind of gross by closing, haha. Good call gents.
I don't remember who the opener was (or a lot of other things that night) but he was killin' it when I walked in. Warm up? What warm up? The bus was my warm up. No warm up required. I was really feeling it, but a little anxious to hear Button get it going.
I was not disappointed.
Jeff, you are seriously the best kept secret in EDM going. Track selection, mix, everything was stellar. A couple of times I had to run to the bathroom to put back on the socks you rocked off. I think my pants tried to escape once as well.
Nathan, THAT is how you close out a night. Again, track picks were spot on and the whole night flowed really well from one DJ to the next.
It was a really great experience being off 'home turf', although this was my home turf once upon a time, because it brings out the Winnie the Pooh in people. By this, I mean people like to explore. Having walked back to the bus to...um...reload, and to the store to buy skins, I saw a lot of people from our group out on the street. We essentially took over the whole block. I think we need to start doing one of these events every two months or so.
The bus home was a little more mellow and it was nice being able to sketch out in the dark bus on the way home. For all the strangers who loaded on for the trip to O, there were no strange faces on the way back. That says something about the calibre of people who come out to support our guys. I really believe we have the best team in the city.
All in all, a fantastic night - absolutely worth the $25, in fact - I would pay $40 to do this again. My deepest thanks to Jeff, Mark and everyone else who had a hand in making this happen. Well done.
Pics and video to follow.
Oh - Mark, there's another puzzle waiting for you at GVB. You're welcome.

It was a great night. I met a lot of awesome people - just too many in one night because I honestly can't remember anyone's names. But it was nice meeting you!
Thanks Dr. Das for standing with me so I didn't look like such a loner.
Here are some pictures, I think these are TA people because I definately took some pictures of some randoms - non-TA randoms that is.
Pics!
Oh, PM me if you want me to e-mail you an original pic that is better quality.
I loved the bus ride but we need to leave on time if it ever happens again so we can include a washroom break on the way there too!
