gemini pt1000 mk2

hi

ive just got a pair of these 2nd hand for �100 with carts (generic ones) and was wondering what peoples opinions were? i know i should have asked before but a bit late now

has anyone here got a pair? if so do you like them?

Most people will tell you that they enjoy bashing those with heavy blunt objects.
Have fun, getting them to spin.

At least once you can beatmatch pretty safely on those you will never have problems with other equipment.

?? they spin and hold their pitch fine, whats the problem?

Enjoy them. If you've never spun before just have a good time. They might not hold their pitch as great as a more expensive deck, but that teaches you even better.

I learnt on some cheap decks, and when i upgraded it was great!

For now have fun. �100 is a bargain and you'll not need to worry too much about taking care of them or making beginner mistakes.

Mix on!

thats the sort of advice i was after, thanks

must say im really chuffed with the sound quality even with some cheapo gemini carts that came with them, tempted to spend �20 odd each on some better ones, any recommendations?

must say though - god beatmatching on vinyl is a bitch, i can do it on my cdjs no problems, but vinyl is gonna take some time i think

Yeah, if you're just starting out at mixing, there's to reason to drop $1000 just to find out you don't like it. I don't think those decks are reliable enough to bring out to a gig. But by the time you're ready to do stuff professionally, you'll have had time to save up for some Technics.

ive had cdjs since january so its not my first go at mixing but i wanted to have both a vinyl and cd setup

im pretty impressed with them so far and my cdj beatmatching seems a lot better now too
