we're prolly gonna end up battling it out for some good second hand decks jah

i saw some a pair of 1200s in the quokka two weeks ago for $1200...

if only i had the money

I'm sure a new pair costs around $1600 for SLP-1200MKII. So if you can buy brand new for that price why go for second hand for $1200?

I do repair Technics turn tables under warranty (did I mention I'm an electronics tech ) Those things hardly go faulty. I've seen 15-20 yrs old units still in immaculate condition but if you buy brand new you get perfect STYLUSES which are very important for sound quality.

haha yeah ascension ns eh i got outbidded on ebay for about $1200 too
argh i really want these

stylus' shouldnt be that much of a problem right if you just buy a pair new?

my opinion..
save up for new ones..

i remember the time wen i wanted to get decks....i looked round in the sydney tradint post, n they had some kool deals...but!

> unless u know about decks and the mchanics of them, there is NO WAY to know if the turntables are "A - ok" "inside" ...ie" motor and the mechanics inside. sure, they may look 'immaculate' and mint condition, but, u gotta know they are in workin order inside. get someone who knows bout decks to go with u....believe me, im sure u dont wanna get decks that hve been stufffed up , or fixed before. unless they are still under warranty..my best bet is to SAVE up for newies. ...these days u can get new MK III's @ 800 + . so IMO ..better!

thats wot i did.
a LOT of patience and a LOT of saving...

re: stylus's
i got the 'standard' stantons' on mine. altho,im savin up for the orofon "concorde nightclub" ones! they aare WIKED!!!
