REVIEW: Craig Richards@Footwork

Going into this, I really wasn't sure what to expect. I listened to Craig's sets that were posted in the events thread and roll call, while I dug it, it didn't really floor me. A little too bleepy/chuggy at times. Having the said, his set at Footwork was nothing short of spectacular. It wasn't near the epic retardedness that was Burridge@Footwork, but Richards had a few of his moments too.

His set was still very minimal-ish, but always had that thumping groove going so you never stopped moving. I was even dancing to the "breakdowns" LOL.

Anyways, yeah...amazing party in general. I hope Farina killed it at the Docks

9/10

ps. it's "apparently" been recorded

Unbelievable party. Richards was way beyond my expectations. Footwork delivers again.

Now back to sleep!

i am glad to hear richards delivered.. went to farina before guv and lets just say he was great but not my cup of tea for the night.. lol

Music was retartedly good, crowd was so so (not enough sketchbags)

i thought his set was pretty damn hard thumping tech-house mixed with minimal and occasional techno and breakbeat track. i don't think i recognized single track he was playing.

His mixing was flawless except one needle skip but when that happened expression on his face was priceless I think he was playing lots of vinyl during the whole night. Sound system sounded sweet though a bit harsh on high at places. I was very impressed with lighting.
By 4 my feet gave up and me and my buddy decided to call it a night
8.5/10

so roll your eyes all you want but couple of sketchbags are always nice to get crowd going when beats are so sweet and hard

LOL That's funny cause all I saw was a whole front section going off to the music. No sketchbags at all.

Posted by rulzz on Apr-15-2007 23:54:

front is always going at it
but somewhere in middle is where all the standing occurs

maybe that's where people go to chill but still be part of the party? You're talking about the area where the bar starts right? I wouldn't expect people to be going off by the bar.

edit and wtf was it stinking of urine by the bar anyways? Like seriously, it's as if someone just decided to take a piss right beside the bar.

Posted by rulzz on Apr-16-2007 00:05:

no no right after the bar ends

by 2:50 the place was jumping though

as for stink yeah i did notice it

Maybe it was because I wasnt on pills, hell - didnt even drink or smoke weed that night, but I noticed lots of sketch bags, and had quite a few people either

a: ask if I had pills
b: ask if I knew where to get pills
c: ask if I wanted to buy pills

That being said, I wish I had been on pills simply so I could of had energy to make it to the end of the night - I was exhausted and wanting to dance, but just didnt have it in me so had to bail before the end.

Pffft. Needing pills to last all night?

I lasted pretty long - till about 4:00-4:30 or so I think
Oh how I miss the days when I could close out clubs 100% sober, I'm starting to feel old.
