melbourne events thread
Should there be an events thread for melbourne?
seeing as there are numerous threads atm on events held in melbourne, should these all be placed in one mega thread?
Same would apply for other states of course, ive had numerous non-melbourne people tell me they stop using the boards because there is just melbourne promo shit spread all over it like a disease.
All comments ideas appreciated

Yes, agreed that an events thread would be good for each state.
there are definitely too many event threads on this here trance website. but an events thread would be gay. too hard to keep track of which event is when if you need to remember X event is on page 32 etc.
plus, we cant have benji crying.

Why not ask Swamper for a subforum for events? It can work like the Canada forums.

anomyst will cry is a trick poll option because he'll cry either way, IMO.
Oi!
I think a subforum would be a good idea, but if there is just one thread for all events then you can suck on my balls.
cause that would leave all the uber-jaded i hate the scene and everyone in it threads.
People dont come to these forums because its a kindergarten of abuse, not because its loaded with event threads.

i think there are too many rules. at least lots of event threads give us something to read if we're that bored (and i often am).
um, theres me, kitty & bec as regular tassies TAs. and there certainly aint a reason to have one just for us haha.
I think one subforum for all states will do for now. It can always be expanded later if need be.

That's true, but it's better to have one if we need one, than clutter the forums.
I'm sure Swamper can find an hour somewhere
All he would need to do is reuse the code from the Canada forums and modify it.
a events thread would suck, but as for a sub forum im down for that
i think its fine as it is. this is local scene discussion. you cant have a local scene without local events. who is complaining about melbourne promoo shit? there is promo shit from other states, maybe there is more from melbourne because there are more events? or more people wanting to promote events in melbourne? you dont have to read them. a sub forum would just make it more boring and complicated. maybe individual events such as pharmacy or interview could have a single thread, but i dont think one thread for all events in a single state would work, it would just be too complex, nobody would talk about the events.
worst idea ever
I concur with Cookie

I think a sub-forum is the best solution if people are honestly not coming to the board because it's too melbourne central. Out of curiosity Jolz, how many people have complained? Are we talking about a couple of people here or a good number in relation to the regular users?
I think Philby has put it the best - it's a local scene sub-forum with local scene content. Melbourne is one of the most active cities in Australia for the electronic music scene, so of course it's going to have a lot, if not the majority of events content.

Didn't want you to point the finger at anyone, just interested in the number.
I'm sorry though, if it's 6-8 people then this is a pretty redunant thread imo.
