In an homage to Sasha & Digweed�s legendary Delta Heavy tour across the States, the UK duo will embark on a 75 date worldwide tour kicking off at Miami�s Winter Music Conference with the ONE+ONE launch party on March 23 at The Fifth. The tour will spend a month in the U.K.�s hotspots, a month in Asia and Australia trailed by a full three months in Europe centered around Ibiza�s summer season where ONE+ONE will have a series of gigs at the world famous We Love Sundays weekly at Space. Coinciding with the tour their double-disc album �One+One� is set for release April 2 on Ministry of Sound Recordings. The album includes a track selection hand picked by Zabiela and Fanciulli, several brand new songs arising from their collaboration work and personal re-edits. ok had a listen to CD 2. Now this is what I was expecting from the boys. The first half is rockin', funky, robophobic madness. The last half slows the tempo down a bit and cruises through till close. Deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin is my pick of CD 2. No pressure is pretty sweet too.
Deadmau5 is/are fucking MC's. Such good music coming from their way atm.
Never been a fan of Fanciulli, don't even think he's in the same league as Zabiela, but willing to give the CD a listen.
In my humble opinion, this is a far better DJ tag team than Sasha and Digweed; at least they don't have their heads up their arses. 
James Zabiela can do things on a CDJ that I never thought possible, while Fanciulli isn't exactly too shabby either; I've seen him play twice now, the second time at 161 he was unbelievable...
I think Fanciulli is one of the best djs at mixing that ive ever heard, he just makes tracks work.
Saying that about S & D and One + One will get flaming, i should know
I didnt know a huge amount about Sasha & Digweed when they were in their prime but I probably wouldnt compare the two duo's. The sound is completely different and the DJs are completely different.
Mixing amazing prog and smashing the hell out of an effects unit isnt really going to produce something to compare is it? Who know I am just a mororn anyway.
James Zabiela has always been one of my favourites and I agree with you on Fanciulli Rysh, his mixing is great Seeing both of them at Capital DJ it was pretty obvious that James has the public personality and Nic is a bit more reserved. Hopefully heis a little more up for it this time.

Synergy: adjective – “The interaction of two or more forces so that their combined result is greater than the sum of their individual effects.” One+One is just that.
James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli first struck up a friendship during gigs in Asia in 2005. Their mutual understanding of each other’s music coupled with the fact they had fun and got into all sorts of mischief together made them inseparable. Throughout 2006 the pair experimented playing back2back, including New Year’s Day in Nic’s hometown of Maidstone, the sunnier climes of Miami’s WMC at Cafeteria and We Love… Space, Ibiza. All received rave reviews (no pun intended) and it was proof indeed JZ and Nic needed to take this idea further – and so ‘One+One’ is born.
The concept will encompass a world tour, which kicked off at this Miami’s WMC 2007. Lauded as one of the essential parties to attend the One + One launch & Boat Party (sell out events) did not disappoint. The lads then returned to the UK to more sell shows across Britain. Following this, in May, James & Nic set off for an extensive month long US tour. This will see the pair traveling like rock stars as they climb aboard a tour bus and gig their way around the country covering the length and breadth of America (with up to five shows a week). No rest for the wicked as directly after this tour, James & Nic then head off for a month of gigs in Asia and Australia (dates below) trailed by a full 3 months in Europe centered around Ibiza’s summer season.
James and Nic will play back2back together on every show. It’ll be a multiple CD deck and laptop extravaganza of layering music, bending sounds and twisting beats to one mind-blowing effect. Debuting alongside James & Nic will be a new evolution in DJ gear: the Q2 Dual DJ. While playing back2back, the unit allows the guys to independently cue tunes as well as play with effects units, laptops and CDJs.
James comments "Even though Nic and I are relatively young DJs compared to most we've been touring heavily on our own for a few years now. So when we did a quick tour of Australia and Asia last year we decided that it's much more fun to go with someone else!"I always wanted more hands in the DJ Booth and now I have them, we'll be using the Q2 Dual DJ which will allow us to independently cue things as well as play with FX units, Laptops and CDJs of course."
Nic adds "We both started off with the same musical background and as time went on we developed our own styles. When we put them together it works well and we seem to compliment each other musically. Normally when making an album I panic about getting things done but this has been a totally different process. I've really enjoyed it; James and I bounce off each other and help one another out if the other is struggling. I’m so looking forward to getting this tour on the road."
Under the One+One banner the duo has struck a deal with Ministry of Sound Recordings for a unique album. A studio mix that is representative of what you will hear in the forthcoming shows, it features bespoke productions by James and Nic including collaborations in the form of ‘No Pressure’ and ‘Rover’. Both of which are a seamless meeting of James’s futuristic style and Nic’s acid-house vibe. ‘No Pressure/Rover’ will be released as a double A side single on label One+One - an outlet set up specifically for their single releases. The album spans all genres of electronica with a massive dose of all the bleeps, squeaks, stabs, synths, bass and melodies that James and Nic pioneer week in week out on the world’s dance-floors.
Look out for personal re-edits and mash-ups including the Alcatraz classic ‘Give me Luv’ and Paul Woolford’s massive ‘Erotic Discourse’ which, like the rest of this Long Player, has been skillfully crafted together to one very pleasing result. Put it on and turn it up…
NIC FANCIULLI:
A shy talent in his early days, Nic has developed into a modest global superstar. He holds four residencies across the world, firstly with his beloved ClubClass in London, Space-Miami, Space-Ibiza and the magnificent Il Muretto in Venice.
Production wise Nic is something of a mastermind working alongside Andy Chatterley, under Skylark and Buick Project. From Essential new tune ‘That’s More Like It’ three years ago to the more recent sublime acid houser’s ‘Lucky Heather / Cat Out of the Bag’, he has a catalogue of productions under his belt already. Nic even made his presence felt at the 2007 Grammy’s with a nomination for Buick Project’s remix of Tiefschwarz /Tracey Thorn’s ‘Damage’ track.
Nic has also remixed for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Timo Maas, Tiefschwarz and Underworld amongst others. His critically acclaimed albums for Renaissance show he’s at home in the studio, with new material coming all the time. Saved Records is another project under the Fanciulli empire which showcases credible artists such as Zoo Brazil, Paolo Mojo and Audiofly.
JAMES ZABIELA:
A technical wizard and with a love of all things sci-fi James has played around the world more times than he has watched Doctor Who reruns; he’s played to a room full of suited Japanese businessmen when showcasing Pioneer’s latest bit of kit, in front of 60,000 people in South America and just about every imaginable situation in-between. From the beginnings of winning a bedroom DJ competition to Sasha personally signing James to his DJ agency Excession things have skyrocketed.
Armed with his fully loaded laptop, effects units, CDs and other box of tricks, James has created his own place on the scene. He holds a residency at Space–Ibiza and had successful compilations on Renaissance as well as EPs and singles ‘The Utilities EP’ and ‘Weird Science’ respectively. With the likes of Sasha, Royksopp and Depeche Mode calling upon him for remixes. James' re-rub of ‘Seal Clubbing’ by Charlie May vs Sasha spent several weeks at #1 in both the Beatport and DJ Download sales charts. In 2006 James was awarded the People’s Choice accolade as ‘Best International DJ’ at the Australian Dance Music Awards.

What happens when two of the youngest, talented and upfront DJs come together? They give us an answerless maths equation. James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli have both been previously been labelled as future hero’s, achieved more individually then many collaborations have in the past and have toured the world more then once, but most recently the pair have joined forces under the moniker, “One + One.”
Initially meeting during coinciding gigs in Asia during 2005, the pair soon became friends and in 2006 they began experimenting by playing back to back sets. After several gigs together, including a New Years Day set in Nic’s hometown, Maidstone, the duo took the leap and formed “One +One.” Currently progressing through their first world tour together, the boys set time to present their sound to everyone on a two disc album, although it’s release is surprisingly not on Renaissance but Ministry Of Sound.
Featuring a combination of styles and sounds, the two discs also contain One + One’s debut singles, Rover and No Pressure. Opening their first disc with their deep yet slightly acid influenced track, ‘Rover’ the mood of the album is set down as familiar sounds from the boys blend together brilliantly. Keeping the tempo low the guys play their edit of a new mix of ‘Stay Gold,’ by Deep Dish which flows nicely into the new Funk D’Void tune. Displaying some brilliant (as expected) transitions, small sections do appear to have Zabiela doing some nice effects.
Just when it seems like the tracks were becoming predictable, M.A.N.D.Y’s remix of the classic Push Push gives the CD a welcomed change. Gently bringing in ‘Analogue Sparkles,’ this is one of my favourites of the first disc. It’s impossible to guess who is playing most songs but this deep and melodic number is just a magnificent choice. Continuing the CD it doesn’t really build in energy as it does in aural sensation. All of a sudden the atmosphere is transformed with a tune like ‘Floating Point’ as Zabiela does some creative scratching in the background.
With a constantly changing sound, tracks like ‘Plastik’ do add that little extra mood to the CD, consequently the boys often follow with a deeper track like Jurgen’s ‘Love It,’ which contrast nicely. Overall it’s very nice to note the lack of self promotion as Zabiela finally shows us his new single ‘Human.’ Similar in ways to his older tracks this one will be a big hit, with influences from Nic it’s a very different song with its melodic breakdown and lush pads. The last two tracks follow up nicely and climax brilliantly with ‘Think Of Love’ by Fragmente. Words don’t do this song justice, One + One have outdone themselves, and it’s only the end of disc one.
Moving onto the second disc, the boys have opted for another intro track with ‘SimonSis1.’ It’s quite a crazy track opens the CD nicely. With this disc it does become difficult to choose favourites, but ‘Being Stoopid’ is a big favourite of mine, containing a simple yet effective bassline it blends perfectly with Zabiela’s well known mash up, ‘Erotic Luv.’ Featuring one of the biggest electro tunes of last year this track never ceases to disappoint, the vocal version isn’t quite as good as the dub, but it’s a great track none the less. Another song worthy of mention is the Jim River’s remix of Fanciulli’s ‘Cat Out Of The Bag,’ personally I love this mix compared to the original.
‘Pinhole Of Light, ‘Work It’ and the mysterious new track from Hi-Fi Bugs come together to form a great little section which needs mentioning. Taking it from electro through to techno and then back to electro, its parts like this these that really make the album quite unique. Then all of a sudden with a break beat acid house number like ‘Ghetto Train,’ the mood has swung drastically again.
The flow of the CD continues smoothly through the second half of the disc as the slightly more electro sounds come through and using tracks like ‘Faxing Berlin’ it helps to build the atmosphere gradually. It’s Nic’s turn this time as he presents his new track ‘Scratch n Sniff,’ containing some new sounds and also some retro noises it’s a great new single from him. With the last few songs it gets a slight bit techy until its time for the finale, ‘No Pressure.’ Made whilst staying in a hotel, this track is the ultimate fusion between James and Nic’s sound. With crazy percussion from Zabiela and a deep section in the breakdown, theres a reason why this song has been garnering such wide acclaim.
Bringing this album down to a few words is quite difficult; it really is the synergy of two peoples. Complementing and thus accentuating each other, One + One may not be comparable to certain other figure head collaborations, but it is definitely going to have its name in dance music history. Possibly one of the best albums I’ve listened to for some time, it may appear to some as though this style wouldn’t be suited for the dance floor, yet for those who don’t believe, see for yourself as One + One visits a club near you.
