Street meat... not new but hey.. it's staple Toronto food.

Posted by Abercrombie on Apr-18-2007 12:30:

^^^ ew... Toronto has the worst street meat in Canada. Hot Dogs and sausage doesn't define a big variety or any culinary prowess.

So tell us what kind of food you like Jrod, and we can steer you in the right direction.

If it's a true Toronto deli (downtown), Shopsy's has been a true favourite for over 80 years. http://www.shopsys.ca/

It's at Yonge and Front street.

My fav deli is much further up Bathurst (Coleman's), but not in the downtown are.

I was gonna say Shopsy's as well as it's right across the street from the Hockey Hall Of Fame. There's a sandwich named after Bill Cosby..if that's not a FTW right there, I dunno what is

what's your budget?

There are some dope steak houses close to that are.
I know of some good places with souvlaki. some killer kebabs to!

There's a Marche just up Yonge Street from the HHoF. They're in the same complex so you should be able to get from there to the hall of fame without going outside. For variety and quality, I'd say Marche is the way to go...price isn't bad either for what and where it is IMO.

MCDONALDS

Queen W & Spadina...there are a couple good sushi joints there.

i was gonna say marche as well. but its a different name now is it not? Richtree? would recommend it. theres another one beside my condo at college park. so if you want to get a nice meal there then go outside, its quite enjoyable

Marche is good and its in the same building as HHOF (BCE).

The marche is pretty much directly on top of HHOF so it'll be close.

You can get everything there. Just go up the escalator and you're there...

On Yonge between Charles and Bloor. There are two, one on the East side of Yonge which is take-out, and one on the West which is the dine-in. The dine-in is the place to be...pad thai not to be missed.

Damnit...now I'm hungry.
