Articles of Impeachment To Be Filed On Cheney

quote:
Articles of Impeachment To Be Filed On Cheney

Looks like he's reached his boiling point.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), the most liberal of the Democratic presidential candidates in the primary field, declared in a letter sent to his Democratic House colleagues this morning that he plans to file articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

Kucinich has made ending the war in Iraq the central theme of his campaign. He has even taken aim at the leading Democratic presidential candidates in the field for their votes on authorizing the war.

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution gives Congress the authority to impeach the president, vice president and "all civil Officers of the United States" for "treason, bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Sources tell the Sleuth that in light of the mass killings at Virginia Tech Monday, Kucinich's impeachment plans have been put on hold. There will be no action this week, they say.

Kucinich's office had no comment on the Congressman's "Dear Colleague" letter -- which apparently was drafted over the weekend, before the school massacre -- or on what the focus of articles of impeachment against Cheney would be.

But Kucinich shouldn't hold his breath on getting anywhere with his impeachment plan. "We'll see a Kucinich Administration before we'll see a Cheney impeachment," quipped one Democratic aide.

Here is the text of his letter, a copy of which was forwarded to the Sleuth:

April 17, 2007

Dear Colleague:

This week I intend to introduce Articles of Impeachment with respect to the conduct of Vice President Cheney. Please have your staff contact my office . . . if you would like to receive a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House.

Sincerely,

/s/

Dennis J. Kucinich

Member of Congress

Makes sense, why go after the puppet that'd be more difficult to impeach when you can go after the puppeteer.

I agree Cheney is pure evil, impeach the SOB.

Dennis Kucinich does not shy away from calling it like it is, he is the type of person you want in power.

Hell no! There's no way I'd vote for a loser like Kucinich.

i really don't care about Kucinich's charade.

what is even sadder than my support for this administration is your absolutely pathetic reasoning that Cheney is the puppeteer.

you can not be serious?

Who do you think is the puppeteer? The president's dad?

Posted by Q5echo on Apr-21-2007 22:23:

there is no puppeteer!

it is about as implausible as Santa Clause!

do you people believe in Santa Clause?

yes.

yes I do.

and if Josh4 truly believes that Cheney is a puppeteer then his entire world view becomes suspect.

not a sole puppeteer but definitely one of the people that make up bush's brain

no i don't really because not even Kucinich's motives for this imply anything close to what your premise of this thread suggests.

house of cards or not, you are off in lala land in the fever swamp where all the moonbats fly.

the thread title says "Articles of Impeachment To Be Filed On Cheney". its always been an assumption of mine that the article in quotes sets the thread's premise, not the one sentence under it

why dont you spend your time commenting on that and offering your own view points rather than hiding behind picking apart mine. its jerks like you in here that give the PDD threads with 14 posts mostly from two people but 188 views

then don't crap all over the article by injecting your 2 cents. hell i was gonna talk about Kucinich's charade but when i read that tired, far-left Moveon.org garbage i couldn't help myself.

NO! not because no one gives a shit about the thread? that couldn't possibly be the problem with it. please you are giving me way too much credit.

it's people like you and Kucinich that are needlessly and mindlessly tearing this country apart. who gives two sh*ts about this forum?

Wait, I thought Democrats wanted to bring this country together and actually change our current situation?

That's what they are trying to do. But Bush and Cheney are in the way. They haven't brought us together, they've divided us. The Democrats are listening to the American people, and poll after poll shows that Dick Cheney's popularity is around 20%, Bush's is in the mid to lower 30s. So more than half of the American people area against them and want them out of there. Impeachment may not work or be in the nation's best interest since they are almost out of there, but the American people have spoken. The American want, and the Democrats certaintly are doing..is OVERSIGHT, and that is what was solely lacking with the Republicans.

Now with the firing of those Attorney's, the Republicans have joined the Democrats and are going along with what the American people want....as I said OVERSIGHT. Maybe that is more important right now than impeachment, but it what our forefathers wanted with the seperation of powers....oversight on the other branches of government....not just a stamp of approval on everything one branch does by another.

well the articles haven't even been introduced yet but once they are then it'll sure gain steam. nevertheless when you come in here guns blazing at the first few posts that are instrumental in getting the ball rolling obviously people are going to be reluctant to open themselves up to such immediate scrutiny. which can become a problem since you seem to sit on the forum you dont give a shit about

bitter much? theres too much beef on this one for me to get into it now

well if time and effort are any indicator i'd expect you to. chastising is neither discussion nor debate. here i'll make it easy for you and provide a template for your future use
