it's a good job that at least 2 out of every 10 men know that mixmag is a big pile of horse bollocks, else we'd all be rather sad.

why do you guys hate one of the few electronic music magazines that we have?

1.) Just because it's one of the few doesn't mean that it's good.
2.) Why do we even need one? We did just great before they existed, what can it bring to the table for the EDM scene? Has stuff such as DJ Mag's "be-all-end-all" poll positively or negatively affected EDM?

well, there USED to be more, such as M8 and Dream which gave good competition, but they've always been biased. Why should we let a magazine tell us what is good or bad when we have 2 ears ourselves that can do the same job, and find a wider range of tracks.

Since when did mixmag try and take itself seriously?

I wouldn't categorise it as a EDM mag, more like a 'clubbers' magazine. If you're 16 - 21 and enjoying the weekly nightlife in your UK hometown, then this is like a bible for the crazy fucked up things you can do with your time.

I'd hardly take their tune recommendations seriously

I buy Mixmag because it keeps me up to date with what's happening and what records are out, but I acknowledge that the actual content is crap.

try buying DJMag instead

To be fair, since they changed publishers, Mixmag has really dropped the drugs stance. Once they quite heavily pushed drug use whenever possible, but now they're a lot cleaner and more mainstream. Still just as bad though.

I love Justice but D.A.N.C.E is such a sub-par tune as far as i'm concerned. Phantom is much better.

Positively I'd say. I know it's a poll that's taken far too seriously, but it has also spread the popularity of the EDM scen in many ways.
