Why DO they call Islam: The Religion of Peace
After reading about how Islam has been so called corrupted by the fanatics... A 12 year boy is used to cut the head off a spy...
Taleban use 12-year-old boy to behead man accused of spying all in the name of thier God
I started to compile a list of Teaching from Mohammed and a some that Jesus stated. Below is just a sample of what is in the Koran, I added several passages from the New Testement to show,,,, read below, study on your own and decide what prophet was teaching peace and tollorance.....
It was jesus that stated, "He with no sin cast the first the stone" However, it looks like the so called, Religion of Peace's prophet used violence and death to spread his teachings.....
if any one wants to add any more please feel free to...

Mohammeds Koran 2:190-191 Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight and persecute you, but commit no aggression ... and slay them when and where you get the better of them 2:193 Fight them until persecution is no more and religion is for Allah. 2:216 Fighting has been ordained for you. 2:244 Fight in the cause of Allah. 3:12 Say to those who disbelieve, You shall soon be overcome and gathered together to be driven towards hell. 3:32: Allah does not love the disbelievers. 3:141 And ... Allah will wipe off the disbelievers gradually. 3:148 Lord grant us victory over the disbelieving people. 3:151-152 We shall certainly strike terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved. .. and certainly Allah had made good his promise to you when you were slaying them to pieces by his permission. 4:74 Let those who would prefer the hereafter to the present life, fight in the cause of Allah. 4:76 Fight against the friends of satan. 4:77 Fighting has been made binding 4:84 Urge on the faithful to fight. 4:89 If they turn back, then capture them and kill them wherever you find them, and do not take anyone of them as a friend or as a helper. 4:91 it is these [unbelievers] against whom we have given absolute authority. 4:95 Allah has indeed granted eminence to those who strive in his cause over those who stay at home. 4:104 Do not be slack in pursuing these disbelieving people. 5:33 The only recompense of those who make war against Allah and his messenger and who strive hard to create disorder in the land, is that they be executed or crucified to death, or that their hands or feet be cut off, or they be exiled. 5:38 As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. 8:12-13 I will indeed strike terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So smite on your enemys necks and above these on their heads and strike off all their fingertips. This punishment is given them because they opposed Allah and his Messenger, and whosoever opposes Allah, for him, Allah is severe in punishment. 8:60 Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies, ... 8:66 if there are a hundred of you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred, and if a thousand, they will vanquish two thousand. 8:67 It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. 8:74 Those who believe, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith, in the cause of Allah as well as those who give (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) in very truth the Believers: for them is the forgiveness of sins and a provision most generous. 9:5 slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush 9:12-14 But if they ... taunt you for your Faith,- fight ye the chiefs of Unfaith: ... that thus they may be restrained. What! will you not fight a people who broke their oaths and aimed at the expulsion of the Messenger, and they attacked you first... . fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and assist you against them 9:29 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth 9:73 O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination. 9:86 When a chapter is revealed, enjoining them to believe in Allah and to strive and fight along with His Messenger, those with wealth and influence among them ask thee for exemption, and say: Leave us (behind): we would be with those who sit (at home). ... 88 But the messenger and those who believe with him strive with their wealth and their lives. 9:123 O ye who believe! fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him). 13:41 See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? 15:4 Never did we destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand. 5 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it).

Jesus New Testament Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 1 Peter 3:9 Do not return evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing. Matthew 5:43-45 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:38-39 You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; 1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all. 1 Peter 2:20-23 For what credit is it, if when you do wrong and are beaten for it you take it patiently? But if when you do right and suffer for it you take it patiently, you have Gods approval. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly. Luke 6:27-29 But I say to you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from him who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Romans 12:17-21 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends upon you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. No, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Matthew 10:23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel, before the Son of man comes. Romans 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 1 Corinthians 4:12 and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; 2 Corinthians 12:10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Timothy 3:12 Indeed all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, Mark 11:25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Luke 23:34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they cast lots to divide his garments. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Hebrews 12:14 Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Matthew 26:51-52 And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, Put your sword back into its place; for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Acts 7:59-60 And as they were stoning Stephen, he knelt down and cried with a loud voice, Lord, do not hold this sin against them. John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of the faith; . 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. |

Simple answer, because it is, and you're taking all those references out of context. And I'm not going to bother expanding on that since you seem so obsessed with this topic.
Ok, I'll give you one example just because I've dealt with this one so many times already:
quote:
2:190-191: Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight and persecute you, but commit no aggression ... and slay them when and where you get the better of them 2:193: Fight them until persecution is no more and religion is for Allah.
quote:
Translation by Yusuf Ali 2:190: Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. 2:191: And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. 2:192: But if they cease, Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 2:193: And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.
; it paints a rather different picture with those omissions and distortions doesn't in? I can't stand ignorance, especially when people are so willing to swallow whatever BS they're fed.

Dude, perhaps you missed my post above
. If I'm really bored, I'll destory the rest of them too

IMHO thats what I just can't get about the Koran, if passages were a reflection of that time and the presucution of the followers, then why should the Modern Muslim use these passages?

Originally posted by LazFX What I was trying to say was, Unlike the New Testement, excluding Revelations; The Koran seems to require one to use other books to understand.. is that a fair assesment?
quote:
Originally posted by shaolin_Z No, that not a fair assesment. The fact of the matter is that if you truly want to understand the Quran, you're going to have to learn the language it's written in, which would be Arabic.

Otherwise you have to rely on translations, which are subject to the translators interpretation, linguistics skills, and biases.
quote:
Originally posted by LazFX So then what you are saying, unlike the teachings of Jesus or any other religion that are basically universal, that with out a full grasp on the Arabic Language, one can never understand the real meaning of Islam? Is that why, like Christanity, there are several different sects of Islam?

Originally posted by LazFX so basically what you guys are saying is that, a deaf, blind and dumb person cannot be muslim? That person has no concept of language, so with out it, he cannot understand. Does this mean that he is not enlightend? The only reason why I ask is due to christanity's whole deal with Soveriegn Grace... and predestination.... it basically states that a person is chosen to be saved even before they are born. "Jacob I Loved, Esau I Hated, when they were still in the womb." Does Islam have that basic premise??

shaolin...I'm not saying Islam is inherently evil, because I don't think it is, but even back in context, those weren't exactly the most peaceful religious passages I've ever heard.

Sure man, whatever you say. Yeah dude, all 114 Surahs and the millions of verses in them are just full of verses talking about murder, plunder, and pilage? There's obviously no point in me saying anything as you're automatically doing to disregard it. If you're so damn curious, why don't you pick up the copy of the Quran and read it for yourself? Or would you rather form your opinion from obvious disinfo and propaganda? Seem like the latter to me, and it also seems like you're not particualrly fond of reading. Have a nice day.

i dont think islam is necessarily more guilty than christianity when it comes to blood-thirsty holy text. the text isn't the problem imo. religion itself, and its lack of evolution to modernise its archaic writings is the problem. but of course, you cant modernise a holy book can you?

Originally posted by LazFX Well those veses I quoted pretty much tend to make it look that way. THE man found guilty of raping a woman as punishment for reading the Bible lured her to his unit by claiming he had news of her family overseas. Abdul Reda al-Shawany was today found guilty of sexually assaulting the then-Muslim mother of four - a refugee from the Middle East who had left her children and husband behind - for her "insult" to Islam. She had been studying the Bible because she was interested in Christianity. After the attack, at al-Shawany's Warwick Farm unit in Septmeber 2002, she converted. It took a jury just half an hour to convict al-Shawany, 52, of two counts of assault at Campbelltown District Court. Even after the decision was handed down he protested his innocence, with his lawyer Christopher Pike indicating his intention to appeal. He said there was a viable alternative hypothesis as to how al-Shawany's DNA, in the form of semen, came to be on the victim's underwear - and that he believed his client could be acquitted on appeal. An application for bail was refused by Judge Brian Knox, who said that the crime was "a fairly brutal attack". Al-Shawany will be sentenced in the Downing Centre on Friday, June 15th. His victim was not in court today.
