April 23, 2007 - With the Nintendo DS starting to look like "That Pokemon System," it's time to start getting the gamers excited for games that don't necessarily feature cute furry creatures who live in tiny red and white balls. In this feature, we've spotlighted a few games whose trailers and video footage make us look forward to chomping our teeth into when they're released later this year.

My top 3

1. Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

Why You Should Watch: If you're not excited for the first game in the Legend of Zelda series on the Nintendo DS, then you need to check your pulse. This game's been in the works for well over a year, and we're expecting big things out of this touch-screen edition. Watch the Game Developers Conference trailer to check out the multiplayer mode that's being tweaked for the release.

2. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Developer: Square Enix
Publisher: Square Enix

Hey Darkangel:

Why You Should Watch: Square Enix is so big on the Nintendo DS these days it's almost hard to keep track of all the projects it's got in the works. This continuation of the Final Fantasy XII franchise is exclusive to the DS and will ship in Japan this week. No information on a US release, but expect it to hit by Christmas.

3. Naruto: Ninja Council 3
Developer:
Publisher: D3 Publisher

Why You Should Watch: You can't turn on the television in the afternoon without watching these ninjas in training kick butt -- and they'll be doing the same on the Nintendo DS next month in this cool and extensive action game. Watch and see how energetic this game's coming out.

and yeah, Zelda Phantom Hourglass looks awesome..like a perfect combination between A Link to the Past (SNES) and Wind Waker (Cube)

Um, I dunno... Seems kind of simple.

I've actually have been looking for a game that has either a kick ass plot, or is deep as fuck and trips me the fuck out.
