Re-opening of Guv

For those of you dying for see the new main room, the re-opening is scheduled for May 12th (according to Guv msg board).

I like what they did with the Drink so hope the guv looks wikkid too

I'm a guv newb (only been twice), what exactly did they change about The Drink other than adding the booths?

the renos at the guv are going to be crazy! I've been able to check it out and the room is going to be completely different. upgraded sound to!

The main room renos are outstanding! The whole place is gutted right now, trust me ... Charles ain't fuckin' with any type of renovations!

It's the main room to one of Canada's best nightclubs. I don't even go to the Guvernment anymore and I am interested in how these renovations will turn out. Guvernment didn't even HAVE to renovate, they just did to add value for the clubbers. That's pretty impressive.

It definately is a topic worth discussing.

discussing what? I mean, sure, if there were pictures posted, or after the renovations were open to public to view, then I would understand, but what exactly is being discussed?

What is being discussed is a variety of things. First, not everyone in the world knew Guvernment was being renovated, so a discussion on a discussion board would make sense. It's the same as movies or television.

With your logic, sportcasters would say "well they haven't played the game yet, so let's not have a pre-show. Let's just talk about the game after it".

The discussion builds anticipation for the renovations. Hell, I wouldn't be caught dead at Guvernment anymore, but I'd go to check out the renos.

I predict that there will be a giant walrus with 9 foot tusks on a circular track that runs around the ceiling and makes a "shishst" sound.

Perhaps they'll have cattle-prods in the speakers to keep little people from K'ing there.

Very true. Still I'm curious as to what changes were made. I don't know if their wiring was getting moisture, or what, but the last couple of times I was there, there was always a period of time where there was quite a bit of distortion to the sound.
