cook some bacon, slice some fresh tomatoes, take a toasted hamburger bun, layer the tomatos, then bacon, then top with cheese and melt in the oven.

^^ Andy, I've tried that before minus the cheese. Tastes great!

hahah, so here is what i had..

some italian sausage, orange peppers, and mushrooms all sauted. Then threw all that on a tortilla. Added some grated cheese and a bit of mayo. Wasn't that bad.

One time I was hungry and had nothing 'normal' to eat so I decided to make my own dish containing what I do have.

Frozen French fries
Ground beef
Ketchup
Chopped Onion

1) Deepfry the fries.
2) In a pan with a lil oil cook the onions and ground beef (I try to keep the ground beef to lil chunks for a meatier texture)
3) Drain Oil/Fat
4) Throw in the fries, and add ketchup (enough to kinda cover everything, not trying to make a soup)

get a fork and enjoy . You can probably add cheese for a more poutine feel.

Yeah it may sound weird but it's delicious!

Or Grilled cheese with real old aged cheddar and bacon

well there's a poutine with the same ingredients at La Banquise, so its not that weird.

French Fries, topped with Cheese Curd, and Chilli.

for a bit of a twisted u can subsititue the Yukon golds for Sweet Potatoes. soo yummy.

Grilled Eggplant: this is one of my favourite summer foods.

Wash and slice a whole eggplant into 1/2" slices.

Sprinkle generously with raw sea salt (any salt will do...iodized, kosher), stack loosely on a paper towel lined plate and allow to weep for an hour or so. You can weep them for as little as a few minutes, but the longer they weep, the more oil and salt they absorb.

Blot dry with paper towel.

Brush generously with GOOD olive oil, let stand 5 mins

Place on grill over low/med heat.

Grill slowly, turning once (and only once, so watch your heat), when turned, brush lightly with oil and sprinkle lightly with salt.

When cooked (8-12 mins), serve as appetizer or side to meat....yum.

This is really great with grilled peppers. Make a meal of it by placing two or three eggplant slices on a plate, top with grilled red/yellow/green peppers (with a bit of basil and good oil), tomato slices and a few rings of raw red onion and parsley. Really nice colour and presentation.

If you weep them for only a few minutes, this whole process takes 30 minutes from stepping in the kitchen to sitting at the table...most of which is waiting. Completely vegetarian for you herbivores.

Enjoy!
