Old school preset

I was wondering about a particular sound that was used back in the day, that is most famously used in "Music is moving" originally by Fargetta, but made famous around the 2000 mark by Cortina (BK). It has a piano like envelope to it and I was just wondering if anybody knew which hardware synth had the preset patch, cos it was actually used quite a bit back in the early 90's by different artists (so it must have been a preset lol). Or if not, how to go about designing this awesome sound.

hmmm I've heard samples with that noise but I'm not sure of the synth that made it.

Your looking at an old skool one so one of the following could be it:

Alpha JUno 1 or 2
JUno 106
DX7 (this did the hard house donk that scouse house canes)

The Korg M1 was used in lots of oldschool stuff too ... and a Yamaha synth that the name escapes me at the moment!

also a lot of Roland xp's where used I believe...might not be the xp though...could have been the jd??

yeah your right the XP50's and stuff, very similar to M1s aren't they?

What about some old yamaha stuff like that zby ??? module? or the oberhiem matrix 1000 that was used by alot of united dance artists

I think I know what you mean , its like an old hardcore, piano type organish thing. Im not sure which hardware synth its from but Z3TA has a couple of preset's Chicago01 and chicago02 I think that are a pretty good match if you tweak them a little.

i know the sound you are talking about, and i know the track you are talking about, both are very cool.

So anybody got any ideas on either the original synth or how to design that sound?

sounds like they sampled one chord from sumthin and pitched shifted it around.

i swear to god that sample is from a streets of rage song on sega genesis tho..

Damn, that is some seriously old school sound. Reminds me of the old Suburban Bass and Dub House Disco stuff.

Danny Olviera used that in his new tune "Drop Your Love" its a sick sound if use it right. I don't know where its from though.
