Here's how it all plays out:

Sabres over Rangers
Senators over Devils
Canucks over Ducks
Wings over Sharks

then...

Senators over Sabres
Wings over Canucks

and finally...

Senators over Wings

Senators win the Stanley Cup

I'm Cheering for Ottawa and Vancuver ....bring the cup back to Canada!

Re: NHL Playoffs: Conference Semi-Final Matchups

I think Brodeur's goaltending will be the difference. NJ in 7

Stop Jagr and Sabres cruise. Sabres in 5

I really hope I'm proven wrong and Canucks win, but the Ducks have been solid all year, although the goaltending has been sketchy at times. Ducks in 6

Hard to discount aging Wings... Esp with Lindstrom (he's what, 45 now) having one helluva playoffs so far. Wings in 6

same as above.

Or Ottawa vs Vancouver and then the execs at NBC get the mad trots.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Rangers will beat the Sabres?

Posted by oldschool420 on Apr-25-2007 21:04:

My predictions:

Ottawa in 6 (brodeur may be the only issue)
Sabres in 5
Anaheim in 6
Wings in 6

In our pool at work, 2 out of 17 people agree with you

hehe

But i've seen on tv, and read in the paper of a few others as well.....

Posted by Ryster on Apr-26-2007 22:29:

Ottawa in 7
Buffalo in 5
Ducks in 5
San Jose in 7

And in the end Sabres will have the cup!!!

Posted by Engine9 on Apr-26-2007 23:52:

wow ottawa is ripping up NJ

4-1 after first period, hopefuly they'll keep it up

Posted by Spin Laden on Apr-26-2007 23:58:

not the way to start of this round, especially at home.

Posted by TCB on Apr-27-2007 01:59:

NABOKOV = Big Titanium Wall

34 Shot Shutout!!! in front of a probably stunned detroit crowd.

That's their way of giving the Sharks a false feeling of confidence.

Posted by TheVrk on Apr-27-2007 10:28:

I havent watched a single game ALL season...hockey is not on the radar here.
But i have followed along all yr long on espn.com and tsn.ca...
So, based on nothing except from what i've READ, (and being a Jersey fan):

Jersey - Ottawa: Ottawa in 6
We've never matched up against them well.
Even when beating them in the East finaly on the way to the Cup in 2003, they outplayed us, we just found a way to win.
DYING for Marty to step up HUUUGE and steal this series

Buffalo - Rangers: Buffalo in 6
Reagrdless of Game 1, the Rangers are a hot team. They'll find a way to win 2

Detroit - San Jose: Detroit in 7
This series is really close imo. Sharks are HUGE, but as much as i HATE the Wings, they're still one of the best.

Anaheim - Vancouver: Anaheim in 5
I REALLY like the Ducks' team. Vancouver's outta gas, + Anaheim is just better.

That'd set up 2 incredible conference finals.

I hope it's just not a one game thing. Nabokov is inconsistent as hell at times

(that's for the five goals Ottawa scored - taking back home ice advantage)
