A challenge for BIG DJs
Play sets, which do not contain any of your own productions or remixes, and still have listeners recognize your sound.
The music would greatly benefit from this trend.

DJ's should never play tracks they produce.

i definitely disagree. I think part of the reason I try to produce music is to express or comment on the sound that I collect as a DJ. (of course their is music that comes from outside this too) For me DJing is that expression of, here's what I feel, here's the mood we all feel, and I don't see why one's own track can't work exactly the same as any other track.
What I do believe though is that DJs should just treat their tracks like any other track. None of this encore/buy my shit stuff.
As for remixes and edits, I think by all means, if they are skilled at it, DJs should edit and remix their tracks to create their sound.
This challenge avoids the problem entirely, which is that DJs who produce substandard music are big in the first place
