Warm Up Sets

95% of the sets that float around online are the peak-time sets by headliners. Whether radio or liveset, what are some of your favorite warmup sets that you've heard? I'm particularly looking for some good house sets, but trance suggestions are welcome as well.

For me, I still cannot get enough of Desyn Masiello's Justmusic.fm warmup mix from last summer, even though it has more of a peak-time sound than a downtempo warmup.

Desyn Masiello - Justmusic.fm Warmup Mix (23-07-2006)
01. Mason - Follow Me
02. Emjae - Hold Me Down (Jim Connor Remix)
03. ID PLZ!
04. Last Rhythm - Last Rhythm (Parham & Dominic Plaza Remix)
05. Underworld - Dark & Long (Jaytay & Funkagenda's Central Exposure Mix)

11. The Spirals - WIthout Control
12. D-Pulse - Can't Stop The Morning Light (Midnight Mix)

Nic Fanciulli - Promo Mix Part 1 - Deep

1. Robert Mitchell - Heart Full Of U (Shur-I-Kan Remix)
2. Chronic Flakes vs Bunker Studio - The Walk
3. Ame, Agora Rhythm - My Vision (Original Mix)
4. Ben Westbach - So Good Today (Osulande Yoruba Soul Mix)

6. Kriece - A Cork In The Ocean (Jim Rivers Remix)
7. Francois Dubois - I Try
8. Akabu - I'm Not Afraid
9. Global Communication - I Love The Way

or basically any Luke Fair set where he's playing deeper stuff instead of peak-time stuff. his System Soundbar Toronto 10-14-2005 set is really good deeper stuff, but i don't have a tracklist for it atm.

i've really been loving the deeper "warm-up appropriate" stuff lately, so my next mix should fit these descriptions too... once i get around to completing it.

Mix)

nice track that is

i always love doing warm up sets. it's easy to make people dance with peaktime music but it's incredibly fun and rewarding to make them dance starting from really chill music and building it up

this isn't really a warm up set but check out Ame's Skin Is In mix on Dessous.

Yo Krooton. If I click on "download this mix" on your site, it just opens up a browser and plays it. If I right click save as, that doesn't work. I don't get it.

I've never heard any Fanciulli sets before, so I'll def. have to check that one out. And I'm def. looking forward to your next effort, especially as you described!

16BL = The Doppler Effect, correct?

Not sure if that was Fair doing the mixing, but that mash up is really fucking ace.

Edit: Fucking eh...if I took the time to read more .

See if you can find Paolo Mojo opening for Sasha @ Axis Boston 2005.

Its a big set (1.1GB) cause its recorded by a guy in the crowd into .flac lossless audio. Its fucking SICK, because it has the lead into sasha, and I also have Sasha's set right after, in .flac.

Yeah, I can only imagine. I saw Paolo open for Sasha in DC that summer and he tore the roof down. If I can free up some HD space, I'll have to look around for it.

I'm sure sets from JMV would get the job done. That guy really knows how to set the vibe.

Armin's warm up set from the first Armin Only was pretty good, don't remeber much from it though. Also looking forward to Blake Jarrel warming up for BT next saturday!

I was at that set, and even wrote a (semi-pretentious) review about how Paolo outdid Sasha that night! (you can read it on electrophobic.com under the "Journalistic" section)

I would love to get my hands on that opening set if anyone can provide some direction

I've checked out a few of the sets posted so far, and they're quite good.

Another I found was the Sasha - Live @ Aria, Montreal set from 2004. Not exactly a "warm-up" set, but the first half hour or so is very much the tone I'm looking for -- from ambient/deep slowly building to a banging set (whether included in the same set or to follow by another DJ).
