Posted by dj_cuba on Apr-09-2002 14:28:

I can't understand why everyone seems so shocked that she's dead? She was 101 for fucks sake! Iam not sad at all. One less pointless waste of space to worry about!

Posted by Martin McG on Apr-09-2002 14:38:

couldnt tell you if she was scottish or not! the royals dont interest me at all and she WAS 101!!! no disrespect 2 anyone who likes the royals but it doesnt affect me either way, i was brought up to respect my heritage and that is scottish/irish and i dont recall them doing much for either! as i said no disrespect to whom the royals concern but just doesnt affect me sorry

i felt like smacking you in the mouth when i clubbed with you, and now i feel like doing it again! im not into the royals one iota, but reguardless a person is a person, and i wouldnt wish death on anyone, and to speak like that of a dead person is dispickleable.

Posted by Kinuvan on Apr-09-2002 18:55:

Well said Coup my feelings mirrored exactly, except the smacking bit, i'm not a violent person.

Posted by torontotrance on Apr-09-2002 19:14:

Smile

I did'nt cry coz i did watch the whole thing but the ceremony was touching i feel.

Posted by Volksjoolz on Apr-09-2002 22:29:

well i saw the funeral..n i was convinved one of those irish guards was gonna be the ira..n they were goin to purposely trip the coffin up..spillin out the contents of her majesty all out into the street!

is that sick??...caus if soo..i'l get me coat!

i actaully have a lot of respect with the royal family..but that idea just didn't leave my mind!

Posted by Ste on Apr-09-2002 22:43:

Sad

i cried when steps split

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Apr-09-2002 22:45:

Nah no need to get your coat If I'm right 33% of the Irish Guards are Catholics probably about 40% of that have Nationalist views after all they serve the UK not Eire or Nationalist people, but yeah something like that would come across my mind to also, I sort of thought what if your walking with the coffin and the bloke in front of you suddenely stops and you lose balence and everyone else walks in to the back of you it would be a nightmare.

I watched some of the funeral it was really well planned if you asked
me. I dislike the royals in some ways i.e the way I've been raised my hertige, but British people have a right to mourn because she was there for them in World War 2 and stuff so I do have respect for her there and 101 must of had a good life.

Posted by sykadelik on Apr-10-2002 09:47:

Not patriotic in the slightest me. She had a good life I am sure, but I am still not entirely sure wot the Royals function are. They have no ruling anymore, cos thats all left to pm Blair. If you ask me I think they are just a tourist attraction!

Perhaps that was a little harsh, what I mean is I don't see that there's any point to the royal family and that they don't do much. now for fucks sake stop taking at so seriously! I certainly wouldn't wish death on anyone and that's not what what I meant.

Well this forum is for having a laugh, but we do take some things seriously, you just have to be a better judge of which ones

My whole skool was made to watch it, only cause of that I prob wouldnt have seen it. I agree wit Dj O'Callaghan, It was flippin well planned!!! - like the number of royals tis and royals that at it and all those bishops ppl, goodness sake, wish the ppl who planned it would start running nightclubs

Posted by Mail Man on Apr-11-2002 11:52:

I didnt care about the funeral, i had a change to watch but i decided to surf the net instead

Next question. WHO here went to see the coffin and stood in that LONG line ??

lol. ur sig with the smiley going up urs is fecking genius!!!

anywayz, i work at comet, and on the day of the funeral all customers and staff had a 2 minute silence. About 1 minute into the silence some guy who was deeply involved in playing Halo on the X box that we have on display looks up and shouts at the top of his voice "HEY, WHYS IT GONE SILENT"

then this guy walked up to him, nutted him, and goes "show some fucking respect" and walked off. Now thats patriotic.

Posted by Ste on Apr-12-2002 01:00:

well you know that old saying everyone knows:

"genius the smiley, genius the man"

Posted by sykadelik on Apr-12-2002 10:09:

thats a new one on me, have you heard the one "People in glass houses don't throw stones"??

Posted by Ian on Apr-12-2002 10:20:

I Didn't cry, cause I don't believe in the royals having any effect on life nowadays apart from getting special treatment et al. I got fed up with all the coverage, sure shes done good things, but people die everyday, people who've done as much as she did, and more for us, at this rate aren't they entitled to the full monty for their funerals, I just think having it all on TV is a bit OTT, and the amount of ppl who've come out the closet 'i once saw her' or 'i was this close to her in ...' is just for their gain, sure she'll be missed, she was the only one of the older lot I had respect for, but it's all being blown out of proportion.. how old was she expected to live
