How much do you pay for new records?
I was wondering what people pay for new records in different parts of the world. Im in Orlando FL so if I go to the local record stores I pay around $10.99 - $11.99 (US) + tax...or I have the choice to order from stores like Satellite or PlanetX and pay $9.99 + shipping which ends up to be about the same, or more.
So on average a new record cost about $12 US for me.
I have to pay about 14 US$ each one .... couse I live in SouthAmerica
Depends really... UK is quite cheap though.
Some tunes that you get on import can cost up to 9 or 10 here, but most are around about 6. You can get some commercial releases for as little as 2.99 though.
To convert that:
6.00 = $8.60(US)
u can buy most of the vinyls for around 6-7 US dolars @ only-djs.com.
But they charge a lot for the shipping. So it becomes the same price.

it costs me about 11.99 or 12.99 canadian dollars plus tax for one vinyl here at virgin. its a little cheaper than importing my own vinyl but virgin's selection sucks and the other local stores costs more so in the end its not worth it. so i just order from the net. i can't wait for only-djs to get a different shipping method. their shipping costs are insane as we speak. hell i ain't paying 40 bucks to ship 2 records even if it is fast. i don't need it that fast i just need it to come.
I pay about $16 canadian per record. more @the store, like $18, so the net really makes sense
Support your local record shop. Seriously. You might be able to get slightly cheaper deals on the net but that money doesn't go back to your local scene through parties sponsored by your local recordstores. Quit being so cheap, you bastards
i just started out buying vinyl and i buy them for 9 euro`s each.. now i dunnow how much that is in $ but i think it`ll B much the same..
oh jeh.. i buy them at an record store, not off the internet
greetz,
DJ Mantis
8 to 9 Euro, too.
I think it mostly depends on where the record label is based. Most trance labels are based in Europe, usually Holland, Germany and the UK. That means record stores in Europe will get cheaper deals when buying them because they don't have to ship them across the Pond. So, stores in Canada and the US will probably charge a bit more for trance than those in Europe.
This is in general, of course, I'm not saying this is true for all labels and record stores.
At my local shop in Trier i pay 8 Euro (about $7.20)a record. the older the record the higher the price though.
My last order from Juno, which was 6 records came out to about
$11-$12 dollars a record.
When i ordered from SatelliteRecords.com, i got 2 records and paid about $14 a record.
It all just depends on where you get them. With most online shops its better to order at least 10 records at a time so that you save on shipping.
here in the uk, we pay 2.99 for new releases. For example, Tiesto - Lethal Indusrty was only 2.99
Other vinyls range from 5.99 - 7.99
which is pretty cheap

$20 AUS at my locals.
www.only-djs.com charged me 75 EURO for shipping 7 vinyls over here, putting the price from $13 AUS to $30 AUS each! Pitty my locals can't get them and I have to go back. I'll try getting like 20-30 next time and see what happens.
