Chill Out/ Downtempo Stuff Like...

Trentemoller's Take Me Into Your Skin, Always Something Better, Moan
Tsewer Beta's Marl 1 (YNG Remix), 10 Months
Joey Fehrenbach's I Remeber
Ulrich Schnauss' Monday Paracetamol
DNTEL's In Which Our Hero Finds A Faithful Sidekick

I'm pretty sure you can get previews to all those tracks on iTunes except for Tsewer Beta's stuff, where you can find on djtrx.com.

Thanks.

Check out, of course, the rest of Ulrich Schnauss' work. M83 does some really nice ambient/downtempo stuff. Most of Moby's non-singles are quite fantastic as well. Extreme Ways, God Moving Over The Face of the Water, When It's Cold I'd Like To Die, Hymn, etc.

Actually, I did search and came up with nothing.

I'm looking for stuff a little less spacey than Schnauss and M83, but I listen to them too.

+ Jimmy van M's first disc on his Balance 010 release.

Posted by kush paintings on Apr-29-2007 21:19:

Howell's 24/7 is just retardedly good. I don't understand why there aren't more "mainstream" chill out efforts of that type, also like Van M's first disc on 10.

For any of you who know or care to check out (on beatport) Omnimotion- Japan, this really is close to what I am looking for, a blur between genres like electronic, indie rock, down tempo.

I was going to include Omnimotion in my first post

Seriously, check out some of the stuff I mentioned. And things like Sigur ros, Helios, Metric, Broken Social Scene, Clue to Kalo, and Bitcrush. All of them are gooooood. Many of them have an indie rock vibe to them, especially Metric and Broken Social Scene.

My roomate and I are ridiculously addicted to ambient Moby and Philip Glass right now. They're going to carry us through finals just like Emiliana and Sia did last year!

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Apr-30-2007 16:48:

Oh, and every other Goldfrapp track or so is a really good chill out tune.

Black Cherry is my fave, and was also named by Moby as one of his all-time favorite tracks iirc.

Posted by existenceman on May-01-2007 01:49:

Caia has some wicked downtempo stuff

Subground

Paul Kwitek is coming out with a chillout album

The new enigma is pretty cool..

Schiller does some neat stuff also.

I'm absolutely in love with Emiliana Torrini. She has the most beautiful voice evar, and I can't listen to a single tune of hers without going .

Edit: Oh, and I suppose that this thread is as good as any to mention that I'm working on a Chillout/Downtempo mix. I don't know when I'll have it done because I'm taking my time finding the right tracks for it, but... yeah... soon, hopefully.
