Thin/sleek digital cameras.

Hello heathens,

A friend of mines birthday is coming up, thinking of buy her a "thin" digital camera. I looked here: http://www.digicamera.com/features/thinzooms/index.html and found some good info, but as always hearing from "the real world" is better.

Do any of you own one of these thin/sleek digital cameras? If so, recommend one for me.

Thanks.

I'm a friggin' n00b.

I know about ISOs, though. Does that make me less of a newbie?

i have an ixus took it all around europe for happy snaps and never had a problem with it.... handles well, takes clear photos ect

not a bad lil camera, im in the process of selling it to get a new camera i seem to get bored of them and have only had this one for about 14 months

Canon Powershot SD 700 IS (or another powershot with image stabilization, IS) you wont be disappointed. Just do your research and you will see its an awesome camera. Another option might be the Casio EX-Z1000.

Pfft, the Canon would whoop both the Casios in terms of colour reproduction and image quality.

I have an SD400, and it's the shizzle.

i have a Canon SD800IS (aka IXUS 850IS in europe) and i LOVE it. great performance. long lasting battery. supports SDHC (sd cards over 2gb). the SD900 is nice but doesnt have the image stabilization. it appears that canon is getting ready to release an update (i say this because they have just released a couple new cameras) so im probably going to give mine to a friend (for her bday) and buy the new one if i can wait that long.

I highly rec the ELPH series from Canon

the SD series are pretty slick. I've got an A520 (not slim/sleak)...but i've seen the SD ones - very small, yet powerful camera
