Smile The Updated Best Album Ever Thread

Hi

I'm sure that the Best Album Ever has been beaten to death but i'm bringing it back for one reason. Most people said more than one and they never gave a reason why. So only one album and i want to know why it is the best of all the albums and better than the others and coz it rules does not count.

Mine is Leftfield - Leftism

I would say that their 1995 release was ahead of it's time, about 5-8 yrs. I also think, it is probably one of the most finely crafted albums because everything about this album says they took forever to make it. From Melt to the song of life to original to black flute to open up. Top class album, more innovating album than any other i've ever listened to it.

yep yep, sooooo true, i love them, every single track chosen, is a perfect match

if you listen to northern exposure 1, you don't, you can't know that it was made in 1996, it sounds so much better then a lot of the stuff that is out now. there are even tracks on it that were made in 1990!!

Paul Oakenfold: Tranceport

The album that pretty much got me hooked on trance.

Sasha & Digweed - Renassiance Collection...best progressive house out there, period. This was made in 1994 I'm pretty sure, the first mixed trance album out there. Throughout 3 discs there is just an amazing flow...the same thing can be felt w/ Northern Exposure.

I would also have to say Paul van Dyk - Seven Ways. All the songs are just soo damn good and the album has this awesome feeling throughout it, the feeling one should get when listening to good trance.

System F vs Armin - Trancematch or armin van buuren-boundaries of imagination

In terms of finely crafted classics, I'd have to say Sasha GU Ibiza caught my attention like no other.

actually i don't like northern exposure 1 at all...cd1 of NE 3 is amazing though

i think the Bladerunner Soundtrack deserves the title best album ever...after 20 years it's still this amazing experience to listen to these tracks...especially rachel's song

and if that doesn't count cause it isn't trance, my vote goes to astral projection's trust in trance

PvDs - The Politics of Dancing kicks every album's booty a billion times!

but there are many other great ones

This ablum gets my vote to - EVERY song is a awesome on it - theres no song that you want to skip over, all the best remixes. That tracks are all just the rite length too.

At start before I had really heard any of Oakies music, i read on these boards he was crap - but i seen for myself that he wasnt at all from listenin to this ablum on repeat over and over

What can i say - this is why i listen to Trance

Out There and Back by pVd because EVERY song is such a masterpiece!

i really think this needs to be seperated into two categories:

BEST PRODUCTION ALBUM

and

BEST MIX ALBUM

Roskilde festival 2000...Damn i never forget it...

Talking well

TIE! two albums for me are tied for the best of all time

Tranceport 1 - this album combines the greatest trance of the late 90s all into a neat little package. The mixing is incredible.

Paul oakenfold presents another world----one of my favorite traks which featured amoeba assasin, lostit.com, the silence, led zepplin...an overall masterpiece IMO

Posted by Vinylgroovah on Apr-09-2002 21:26:

1. Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport
2. Paul Van Dyk - P.O.D
3. Sasha - Ibiza Gu013

I know you only said to mention one tta, but i have 3 that comes to mind for one reason. They flow beautifully from the beginning to the end and when you are done listening to them, you wonder where the time went... (Plus when its over you have a smile on your face)

Boundaries of Imagination by Armin Van Buuren

Magik 2 by Dj Tiesto

In Search Of Sunrise by Dj Tiesto

all amazing cd's, and i will cherish forever.
