What happened to the original thread?

Any details on the guestlist?

*still keeping fingers crossed for a mixed set (live & dj) from RvG*

If CIRCUS is honoring the guestlist for the 1st 200 listed people that arrive, I would say it's FREE Admission. I will confirm though to be a 100% sure.

Knowing it's a Session event, I'm not very optimistic....

I heard RvG is very excited about coming to LA

Here's alittle something for those not familiar with RvG.

Playing all around the world make's this R.A.W. boy one of the established DJ's of this moment. Countries like UK, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland, Tunisia, Greece, Germany, Poland, Israel, Canada, Spain, USA and many more are already known with this professional freak entertainer. With his dark appearance and Rock and Roll image he is here to keep you Rocking!

Music has always been the biggest passion in Ronald van Gelderens (RvG) life. To mix love and hobby together, makes him standing at the top of his career now. In the Harbour City Rotterdam, The Netherlands, RvG had toyed around with the idea of producing music while studying to become a technical engineer.

It all started with his dad's turn tables and cassette player. While listening to the famous Dutch radio show "Soul Show" he cut and pastes the music and played it himself. He started his own pirate radio show at the age of 14. After he got caught, he started his own Drive Inn show. This became such a success, that he toured around mostly every weekend to school parties, weddings and kid's celebrations. Together with a friend he started a Hip Hop band called "Dutch Mob" where he scratched and wrote the lyrics.

RvG took the plunge in 1997 and started making music full time. In 1998 he released his first track, "My X-perience" under the alias Formologic (Label: Flammable Records). His next follow up was "Sweet Substance" under the alias N-Fluence and quickly was signed up by Paul Oakenfolds label Perfecto. After this release RvG gained notable reviews in the Dance scene. Plunging into producing full-time in 1999, RvG has proven to be the master of his unique "slightly tough" sound with strong melody structures and a cutting edge. RvG signed up at the label "TSUNAMI" and released some famous hits in the dance scene: Kid Vicious "Paraphrase", Kid Vicious "Re-Form" (B-side mix from DJ Tiesto), Van Gelderen "Konga", Van Gelderen "Aftershock", Electrobis "Phonetic", Kid Vicious "Pants Down Spanking", Electrobics "Indecisive", Electrobics "Look Who' Stalking", Kid Vicious "Contagious", Mix Compilation: Tsunami vol. 2 mixed by Kid Vicious, RvG "Proceed", RvG "Sustain" and RvG "Crying Out".

RvG not only produced his own tracks, he also produced together with DJ Tisto the tracks "Urban Train" and "Suburban Train" which entered the UK single chart at #22.

The year 2003 was another successful year for RvG. The release of his single "PROCEED" became a big favourite in the worldwide dance scene, with great airplay (8 weeks in a row) by Judge Jules on BBC Radio 1. Suffice to say, this record has been on the play list of all big jocks all over the world. After "PROCEED" RvG came back with another smash hit "SUSTAIN" which again had the same results. With his follow up he decided to experiment with using his own vocals and the result was the record "CRYING OUT".

His remix of Rapid-Eye's "STEALIN BEAUTY", and Ferry Corsten's "PUNK" has also been recognized by both DJ's and clubbers all over the world. Further more he did remixes for Libra (BT), Dream (Japan), LASGO, the Dutch singer Birgit Schuurman, to name a few.

For the UDC event "IMPULZ" RvG mixed the compilation: Impulz mixed by Ronald van Gelderen. The same as the event, the compilation was a big success in Holland

After 6 years of dedicated work for the TSUNAMI label, RvG decided it was time for a new challenge. Halfway 2004 he released his first track "COLD STORAGE" on ID&T Records / Be Your Self Music. "COLD STORAGE" was a huge bang, reached #7 in the Dutch Dance charts and was played out by big names all over the world.

June 2005 RvG had the great honour to remix the track SMAT for the big Asian Rock Star Wu Bai. Wu Bai is one of the biggest Rock Stars in Asia and sells millions of albums.

September 2005 RvG released F!LTH at Be Yourself Music. This single has been a huge success in the clubs. F!LTH was one of the favourite in the box of DJs like Tisto, Judge Jules, Paul van Dijk, Rank 1 and Armin van Buuren.

November 2005 RvG remixed the UK Top 10 hit of the famous DJ producer team Dogzilla WITHOUT YOU. The remix became a favourite play at the club scene. WITHOUT YOU has been released in several countrys and peeked at #3 in the UK dance charts.

January 2006 RvG played at the biggest event in Holland: Trance Energy and also mixed the Trance Energy 2006 CD compilation. The compilation ranked #4 in the Dutch CD charts.

Since the first week of 2006 RvGs radio show R.A.W. had lift off on the world wide web. You can tune in every Thursday between 5pm and 6pm (CET) on Afterhours FM www.ah.fm and every Saturday between 6pm and 7pm on ETN FM www.etn.fm.
In this radio show RvG provides the listeners with his varied taste in dance music. The radio show has already established its self as one of the best radio shows on internet today. The show has got an amazing count of listeners from all over the globe.

June 2006 RvGs released THIS WAY on the High Contrast Label from Be Yourself Music. Already before the release THIS WAY entered the UK Buzz Charts at #11. The B side of THIS WAY is remixed by RANK1. THIS WAY is a favourite of big jocks like Paul van Dijk, Tisto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Sander van Doorn, Cor Fijneman to name a few. Writing the lyrics and performing the vocals are done by RvG van Gelderen himself.

During the Release of This Way, RvGs image changed into a Devilish Rock and Roll wild performer on stage. His rough dark appearance in combination with the new sound he brings today, this guy is no longer just a DJ / Producer but an all-round performer.

RvG also did a remix for Slippin Away from DJ/ Producer Richard Durand, also known from the club hit Make Me Scream and Tiestos Leathel Industry en Flight 643 remixes. Slippin Away will be released on 25-11-2006.

With his latest single REALIZE, Co-produced by Benno de Goeij (from Rank 1), RvG delivers again a full fire hot as hell tech driven monster with boy R.A.W. himself providing the vocals. Thick beats rolling basslines is the best way to describe the energetic original version. Adding a perfect sounding vocal for the finishing touch and here you have yourself a rock-your-tits-off monster. The Stripped Down mix, is for the ones who like it a bit more house driven! But, dont fool yourself as this little gem has more energy to unleash than you think. The record has already got massive support as ferry Corsten featured the record on his recent Essential Mix, Armin van Buuren gave it several plays on his radio show and Marco V included it on his Combi:nations 2 album.

There's no hope for you, Ruben. You'll just have to learn to live with it

BTW, RvG played and sang at Trance Energy this year too. I friggin missed it because Rank 1 was playing on a different stage at the same time but I heard he did a very nice job.

Ronald van Gelderen burned Circus down with a fiery set (amazingly, it's still there though!) Great to see Riia, Bob and other TA's whose names I instantly forgot when I met them (am I the only one to possess this unique quality?) I completely lost it during one of RVG's tracks...it was soooo good, I may never know what it was but I'm sure I'll hear it again somewhere...

Holy moly RvG was off the hook!!!

I hadn't seen RvG play before so I didn't know what to expect but once he started, I couldn't leave the dance floor! My feet are still hurting from all the dancing! Ron's set was different than the usual sets we see here. Besides the djing, he sang a couple of his own songs and even MCed throughout the set which got the crowd more pumped up! Ron is definitely a true entertainer who has great interaction with the crowd. And I totally digged his rockstar looks with the black hair, eyeliner and clothes

Some of the songs he played:
Alex MORPH vs. Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary
Ferry Corsten - Beautiful
AvB vs. Rank 1 - This World Is Watching Me
Marcel Woods - Cherry Blossom
RvG - Realize
RvG - This Way
The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

But it's really the rest of the songs he played that made the set soooo good. I hadn't heard them before but they still made me dance my booty off! I'm definitely a fan now!

Minuses of the night: Horrible soundsystem, rude people, ridiculous overuse of the fog machine, and the bad lighting that made picture taking a nightmare. All my pics look just red
