Arrow Magnus - Everblue (136BPM Trance)

Here's a sample of a 136BPM trance track I did a little while back. It was the last thing I did before I went into this space of time where I've lot all interest in music. I haven't touched my production PC in close to a month. Just a phase I'm guessing but I know we've all been there at one point or another. Anyways, heres a sample.

Comments appreciated and welcome.

Thanks for listening!

Yup, Ive gone through phases just like that. Lack of inspiration. I usually go out hunting for more tunes & listen to others peoples creations for a while to find the new drive needed.

This tune has a nice warm feeling to it. The progression is simple,
The guts of this tune (between 1:00 & 2:00) has an atmosphere which is uplifting. The pads add nice ambience.

Not much to add otherwise. Nice selection of snyths. Percs are ok. Not really my style of music to comment. I would have liked to hear more deviation & progression, although this is a sample (& probably miss out on that in the second half of the tune). Good production Magnus, cheers for sharing.

Sounds pretty nice, though it's too basic stuff for me.

I think the kick needs some tweaking..?

Good job anyway. :) Like to hear more of your productions.

Thanks for the comments guys you've confirmed something for me. Most everyone that has heard this says something is missing so maybe I'll go back and add something more. Its at times like these where I wish I had a vocalist to experiment in the mix.

All in all a pretty good production but I would also say that the kick is what's letting it down.

Sound like you might have been a little tight with the frequency that it's allowed to occupy i.e. bit tight on the roll off. You might even want to layer it with another kick keeping the high end of this one and taking a fatter lower end from another kick sound.

Just my throughts mind.

I don't know that I think that this track needs anything more in terms of melody, it's actually quite tech sounding but maybe bring the existing melodic components forward just a touch as they are very distant.

That said, I would be prepared to play this given those extra touches. Great work.

Cheers
Nem

I went through that phase for 4 years. Just got back into things about a year ago. When the times comes, you'll go back to it.

You may want to shelve the track for a while, just so you can come back to it with fresh perspective. That may not work for you, but I know it helps me sometimes when I just can't seem to finish a project.

nice atmosphere and background melodies. the kick definatly needs some boosting/punch. maybe turn down the volume a bit of the background melody and turn up the main leads a bit. anyway sounds good with a bit more work

i really like this
this tune is really lush!

it just needs a simple melody over the top, just some keys or something layered over the top
