me rikey

still more to be announced for the Toronto line up though!

DJ stage should be bigger and better this year as well. Last year it was only decided to add it 2 weeks prior to the event. this week they've plenty of time. I've already been given the heads up on a few names... however, since I may be involved again this year, I've got to keep my mouth shut for the time being

this event i dont like. this is some typical northamerican event where they stuff as many artists together to get way to many people who dont even care about all the music playing there.

its some cheap attempt by virgin to get thier name associated with music and what is popular with young people.

this doesnt seem like a dance festival too djs play EDM for dancing not some "listening" festival.

i dunno the whole idea of the event is odd seems too commercial for dance music, yet i dont know how thats possible for here in north america where is not popular like in europe.

pessimism defined, unclear problem with a better than average lineup that is spread out amongst decent bands over different genres.

complain somemore and we'll be lucky if the Barenaked ladies do shows at Nathan Phillips Square in the future.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying, but it makes me thing you're stupid.

+1

Btw...it's not a North American event. Virgin has been doing this festival for years in the UK..I'm waiting for Rach to jump all over this

And another btw...the festival is a riot. Last year the line up was not that great and we still had an amazing time. This year will be fabulous!!!!!

Holy Mole Guacamole!!! I will be flying to England for the 4th year in a row at the end of August to attend my 8th consecutive V Fest.

You have NOOOOO idea what you're on about.

The best weekend of the year for me then back to Toronto for the Canadian V Fest round 2.

had a blast at last years V-Fest!!!! totally looking forward to seein the Pumpkins, Metric and Tokyo Police Club. maybe even Bjork if i decide to dish out the cash for the first day.

Will probably make this year's Virgin Festival one of my bday jams.

Posted by slingshot on May-03-2007 16:23:

I would probably go see The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Besstie Boys, 311, Incubus, and the Wu Tang Clan before I saw any of the EDM acts on that bill. In terms of rock bands, this festival is incredible. Festivals are where it's at to see rock bands.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm......

Posted by nadezhda on May-03-2007 17:13:

the lineup this year far exceeds the one last year.

i'd say i'd be interested in 90% of the acts that are performing, whereas last year it was maybe 40%.

i'd go, except i'm going to be at bestival in england that weekend!

Posted by Takayuki on May-03-2007 19:29:

WTF.... The Smashing Pumpkins? Where the hell have I been... since when are they back together?

Posted by Rodrico on May-03-2007 19:47:

I'll definately be there, especially since I missed out last year's event when I busted up my ankle real bad. No Strokes like last year but definately alot of great bands worth checkin out.

Posted by shanny on May-03-2007 19:53:

That looks intense!
Smashing Pumpkins are one of the only bands who I still really need to see, never got the chance before.

I am totally with you on who I would see. I saw Wu Tang Clan and my eyes went

Although Sasha & Diggers together, that would be something good to finally hear for myself live.

These EDM names alone should want you to go to the first day.

Sasha & John Digweed
Danny Tenaglia
Miguel Migs
Sander van Doorn
Booka Shade

i really hope the line up will be as good for Toronto. Sasha and Danny!!!!!

This one will blow the TO show away, for sure. Don't think I'll still be here for it, but u never know....

Posted by Jem_hadar on May-04-2007 19:24:

well im sayin that it just seems really commercial. its a way for virgin to market their name to the people who go there. I just dont like this type of thing cause music is a respectful art and its always being commericalized.

just reminds me of something like a tiesto concert pack as many people in a stadium together. you know being about Quantity and ticket sales. anyways nevermind lol. people dont like to question things.
