Would anyone want to see Aly & Fila in NYC???

Their radio show is pretty good. I wonder how many other people would like to see them. Perhaps enough positive response would influence a promoter to reach out. Who knows...?

aly & fila...so hot right now!

Posted by ReenTeenTeen on May-03-2007 06:34:

yeah, I been listening to thier mixes for over a year now and I have high respect for their work.

Posted by partyhopper on May-03-2007 06:45:

would be cool

Posted by gmoney44 on May-03-2007 07:43:

need to keep in mind that they are on the rise now and not that many people know about them..Strobe Life has said in other threads concerning bringing talent like this to NYC that it is high risk and the party would probably lose money.

M.I.K.E. is a huge name and alot more known than Aly & Fila and the turnout at T-NY wasnt too good...of course it would be great for talent like Aly & Fila to come but its just not going to happen

never say never

They (or he - only Fila DJs) played at the tranceaddict truck at the 2005 loveparade substitute "Planet pro Berlin" - very relaxed, down to earth and friedly guy.

Plus their music is great too!

Smiley DJ

silly question, of COURSE!!!

Posted by euphoria on May-03-2007 13:23:

I know someone who can get in touch with them if someone is willing to book. He knows Fadi (Fila) personally.

But hell fucking yea I wanna see them here. I've know about them since the Eye of Horus

Im pretty sure ECO said that at the price the Euphonic guys were asking to be booked at made it unfeasible. Since these guys are up and coming, and live in a much less expensive part of the world (egypt), perhaps they may be asking for much less. Remember that the euphonic guys are huge in europe and can ask for a high price. Plus im sure they live in europe where costs are greater than egypt. If the asking price is right, and a proper venue can be found, i think it could happen.

abso-fuckin lutely!! i was just thinkign to myself yesterday while listening to there recent Future SOunds of Egypt set that they need to me booked here!!!

Posted by DJ Eco on May-03-2007 15:29:

I gotta take a raincheck on this, sorry guys (bring it up in the Made forums haha)... Yes, they're from Egypt and booking price might be lower, but we're talking about two round-trip tickets from Egypt (at least 1000$ each), and two hotel rooms, and that alone is enough to make my wallet cringe lol... Sorry y'all, maybe another time though!

Posted by Twilogoddess on May-03-2007 15:42:

YES! I LOVE THEM!

Posted by euphoria on May-03-2007 16:57:

I just asked my friend Adrian to get an idea of how much they would charge. I will get back to you as soon as I find out

Posted by Konijn on May-03-2007 17:03:

you'd barely fill a broom closet if these guys were spinning.

Their Future Sound Of Eygpt Show from 4-24 is AMAZING.

agreed, we forget that this forum itself doesnt bring in 500 people to each event, so what people here wanna see doesn't necessarily make for a successful event.

That is true, but there are reasons some promoters can bring more people to an event than others. Promoting an event is no different than selling any other product. Just because you have a quality product doesn't mean someone will buy it. You have to go out there and sell it. There are people with the ability to sell shit for top dollar. It seems that many of the promoters just expect people to go to an event because the DJ is present. There are very few products that can sell like that. Some hard leg work can go a long way.

Agreed, it's better than any ASOT episode Armin has put out in well over a year.

probably more doable if they're touring the US, or already booked for gigs in other US cities

On my part, I'm the full embodiment of what you're saying. For better or for worse, half the people at the Martin Roth party knew who Martin Roth was, and the same goes for the Talla 2XLC/Vic/Funabashi. However, there's only so far us promoters can go. Your reply highly oversimplifies the art of throwing an event. I have dozens of guys that push tickets, thousands of dollars go into online promotions and heavy flyerboy distro, so no, I agree that the DJ itself doesn't sell an event, but there's only so much you can do to push an event to people, relative to what the cost is. We can't bring EVERY DJ that we wanna see, there is a certain line that is crossed between something being a "risk" and something being "way too much of a risk". There's a certain amount of profitability to keep this party-machine going. Hope that explains things

Funny you should mention ASOT. They will be playing ASOT 300. Looking at their gig schedule it looks like they do mostly radio shows or mixes for afterhours.fm, di.fm and the like. Trance is HUGE in Israel and right next door to Egypt. No gigs there for a variety of reasons.

Now since thats all said and done I will be taking offers for NYC's number one house and trance dj (DJ Eco)

Posted by southbound24 on May-03-2007 21:50:

why dont we just have a lstening party for them and have someone local spin (ripping off Tiesto's idea)

Posted by DJ Eco on May-03-2007 22:19:

As a matter of fact, let's just have a Paul Van Dyk "In Between" listening party at Central Park; forget paying $70,000 for him! haha

Posted by edubbz on May-04-2007 02:32:
