New Born Lamb (available for slaughter!)

Hi,

I recently attempted to remix Gouryella's Tenshi and it just doesn't seem to have any backbone. The bass seems weak and i'm not overly precious about the stereo image(too blurry!). I feel as if i'm stuck in a time warp!. I just can't seem to move away from the 98-00 trance sound.

P.s i did an instrumental track called "Taken". i'd be greatful for feedback on the development of the main theme as i think it drags on a bit!

I guess i should add that i did these with software only.

Any advise greatfully recieved (i could do with it!).

Taken wasn't really my cup of tea so I won't comment on it. I like most of the other stuff, except Airwave because I hate the original. The tenshi remix is a bit weak but I liked it. Fill out the percs and theres plenty of room to up the bass a bit and thicken the pad.

So what? The more people making old school stuff the better. 99.9% of modern trance has no character.

I listened to Tenshi. I think you probably need to start beefing your sounds up a little with effects.

I don't think the fact that it's on software has anything to do with it though, but just got to look at the sounds that you choose a little.

What do you use and perhaps we can see if we can identify something.

Cheers
Nem
