Web Browsing in Vista

So, since some bastard broke into my office last week I am stuck with a new computer with Vista on it. I haven't had huge issues with it, but it is a bit sluggish, especially browsing the internet.

Regardless of whether I use IExplorer or Firefox, web pages load slowly, especially pictures (many don't load at all). I know it's not the internet connection.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Burn a Linux Live CD and use that.
