Exclamation Sick of "0" replies? Post One Track -> Review 4 Tracks

Sick of '0' replies on your new posted track? Then lets start a simple review system:

Post ONE track, then review FOUR tracks.

Basically every time a producer posts up a track he also reviews a minimum of 4 other peoples tracks & provides feedback. It will increase activity & reduce '0 replies'. Lately this Producer Promotion section has seen a reduction in thread responses. At the moment there are alot of new producers & even older existing TA members that post up their track, do not check out anyone elses track and expect people to review their track; Then they wonder why no one replies??

In an ideal system, people would first review two tunes with '0 replies' to the threads, then go to review another two tunes to their personal preferences (EG: if they are a house producer, then they will check out other amature house producer tracks & give advice). We have a large range of genres here to choose from; so check out other genres like psy trance, hard trance or even progressive trance once in a while. This way everyone one will be happy to be getting feedback. Feedback is the good & it will help activity levels!

Post 1 track, review 4. It's simple! ...& the music promotional section will become more active because of it!

What do you guys think? Obviously not everyone will follow this rule as a requirement, but it could be a good general rule that members take on.

Thats a very good idea, I can't say I've been ignorant of the causes and the obvious effects. But I think i'm going to do that from now on. But first, I must sleep. So goodnight

psst. Check out the new track

ya people aren pretty ignorant on here, if you aint a top dj then you wont get many replies which is pretty gay, cause there is alot of the no name djs on here who are 100 times better then alot of the top guys out there right now, which is pretty sad,

the only way you make it in the game is if you know someone, its not about talent anymore, which really sucks

I totally agree. I too have noticed a sharp decline in replys on tracks. A couple years back you would get 8-10 replys and now your lucky to receive 1. I will admit I've been guilty of this myself and have to apologize. I don't know what it is but there really isn't an excuse for it. I've reviewed tracks in the past on many occasions, but lately I've just been out of it.

Feedback is golden. It keeps you grounded in reality and helps you improve. I think Xeno's idea is awesome because it gives a guideline to follow and will give people incentive to check out other's work and in the long run, everyone is a winner following Xeno's idea. Its late but I'll be reviewing tracks tomorrow and try to start taking more time out to review other's tracks. Good post Xeno. This post has made me "come to Jesus" and repent.

sure, there will always be the noob factor. Can't deny that that will ever change.

But there is alot of constructive criticism in here as well, something we want to encourage more of.

No.

...that doesn't even make sense. DJ != Producer.

I always review others when i post new track, and new people are less likely to get many reviews if they dont post some themselves, if u havent made a huuge track that is.

You get more replies if people "know" your name.

But if ur track reeally sucks, few people want to tell you.

yeah, great...force someone to review what they don't prefer/like...that will really generate a lot useful reviews...

sorry the whole idea is kind of good...but on the other hand, it's pretty utopic.

Back to the matter at hand. To thread starter and a few other posters...

First up to state that there are tons of producers on here better than a lot of pros is a little on the bold side. I would say on the contrary, whilst there are quality producers here no doubt, the vast majority are not and don't even come near. I seldom see anything that really stands out here these days.
But if I do then I will comment, likewise if I think someone technically could have done something better or if I have had an idea and so on.

There is absolutely no point posting in four other threads just to get hits on your own, simple reasong being that the only replies you will get on your own thread are somone trying to get you to review theirs so the comments have served no purpose except to pad your ego for a few moments. What can you learn from that?

Naturally if I post something I will review other tracks, but I also come in and review when I can without posting anything.

Listening to other peoples tracks can teach you just as much about your own as the other persons. People who post valid comments often can give away little gems of information too, so it is worth while giving a little bit.

Cheers
Nem

You will never get posts that way. You have to listen to other peoples music, absorb it and become part of the community, there is no simple way of just getting bags of replies.

Ultimately you have to get to know people. Give and take basically. Post replies on peoples track even if you are not posting anything yourself. Enjoy the community a little.

cheers
