Baron Davis

I could have his babies right now. My roomate and I adopted Golden State last week because they don't have any fans... and they just pulled off the biggest upset in NBA history!!!!

Let this thread continue as a drunk thread!

Mark Cuban's the man.

Dirk, on the other hand, fails at life...not that I'm complaining.

I watched this game at work. I missed the complete dismantling of the Mavs in the 3rd quarter. I left the cafeteria at half time (48-46) and came back 1 minute into the 4th quarter (Warriors up by like 20).

I was stunned. Although so many people wanted Dallas to lose, I really didn't expect this to happen. I mean come on, this is a team that tied the 6th best record in NBA history. I was pretty sure that after they went down 3-1, they would realize what's at stake and just demolish the Warriors. Plus, honestly, who expected Baron Davis to keep it going this long.

But the Warriors lived up to the namesake in this series. They never gave Dallas a chance. Congrats to the whole team.

I guess this means Phoenix is taking it this year.

As not only a Mavs fan but also a NBA fan, it was the worst series I've had to watch, EVER.

The only friggin team I did NOT want to play was the GSW. And they make it in to the Playoffs on the last day of the regular season. The match-ups that they created are what killed us. I honestly don't see them playing like they did in this series versus any other team in the league.

And I can play better defense than what the Mavs played in this series. I'll give them one game to get destroyed by ball movement and all those wide-fucking open threes, that's fine. But it's NOT THAT HARD to figure out! I would rather have Baron score 77 points on lay-ups than watch him drive and kick it out to one of four wide open teammates, time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time.

Ah well. My hats off to you Nellie, BD, and Biedrins.

Blasphemy! If Baron Davis could beat the Mavs with a limp, he could beat the '94 Bulls team. And he most certainly will destroy the Rockets or Jazz. Which means the Western Conference Suns-Warriors final is going to be F.U.N.

EDIT: Baron Davis > Leonidas

i type way too much in the other NBA thread. . so i'll keep it short and simple.

mavs were a good team, but they just got drawn the short end of the stick when the seedings finalized. although golden state was an 8th seed, they had dallas's number in the regular season(3-0). numbers would have said golden state would win this series. also on another note, whoever bided on golden state to win the series(9 to 1 when the series started) is a rich man.

on a side note, golden state spilt the series(2-2) with utah and lost to the rockets(1-2) during the regular season.

riding on hype my man. Clippers looked hot like this last year, before losing a really good series to the suns. if not for raja bell's 3 pointer to send the game to overtime in game 5, clippers could have won that series.

i only watched a few minutes here and there but golden state is a fun team to watch. i'm glad they beat dallas, but Baron Davis is a complete ass, he's like trying to get into a fight all the time. its like chill out, stop taking it personal every time someone fouls you. the world isn't out to get you so calm down you overreacting idiot.

They beat the Rockets 2-1. But as the announcers said last night, if it's Houston, Yao is going to have to dig deep to keep up with the frenetic pace.

I don't know, I don't think it will be that bad for Yao. When we had Diop in there, he really helped curb the drives and disrupted their crazy offense - it slowed the game down a little bit. Of course Diop hurt us on the offensive end because you practically can't even pass him the ball at all for fear of a turnover. I don't see them having that problem with Yao.

Diop is still pretty mobile. I mean, Yao moves like he's on stilts. Which he kind of is I guess. I'm more worried about the Warriors lights-out shooting percentage falling back to normal. Their shot selection, though it worked against the Mavs, is pretty awful.

This series remind me of when LA played Pistons in the finals. Everybody said LA this and LA That and guess who did not come out on top

Then this series before they even played statsitaclly the worriors beat Dallas every single time(3-0)
Playoffs are a different ballgame but still how would you feel going against a team no matter how good you are but you never beat them yet? Well this I think was the wake up call getting beat those three times but the Dallas did not wake up against the worriors and got shot down.

P.S. If you know how to shutdown your best threat(Dirk) then they also did a good job. If anyone who played the bulls shutdown MJ it would of been over its just MJ was above that and thats why no one shut him down lol. Karl M was so pissed because of him and many others

When Baron made that falling down 3 towards the end of the first half, I knew it was over. If you look at their shooting percentages, they weren't that great but MY GOD the timeliness of the shots that did go in was unbelievable.
