Thumbs up Congratulations

I'd just like to tell you all what a great forum this is. It is amazing. No flaming, like in other forums and its all about aussie trance addicts sharing information. Truly a credit to every one in here.

Maybe I can catch some of the perth TA's at the gatecrasher or van dyk shows.

Congratulations

Well make sure you stick around then mate.

The more the merrier.

Posted by =alphabeta= on Apr-10-2002 08:09:

thanks and welcome mate...

as renegade says the more the merrier, so tell others
about out little group.
cheers

Posted by Serp on Apr-10-2002 08:50:

that's very true, it's all the damn americans i tell you!

=alphabeta= i got your PM and yep I have been surfing around the aussie forums for a few weeks now, the funny thing was I didn't realise the aussie forum was created until quite a number of weeks later! lol

yes the trance scene in melbourne is awful...
the only time good trance gets spun in the clubs is when the top international (dutch) djs such as ferry and tiesto are in town, you can forget the radio stations.

also i wasn't able to go to Two Tribes because
A. im broke right now and
B. i was on holidays with the family in NZ (i wasn't paying obviously :P)

next time ferry gets here i'll definetly be seeing him, and as for PvD i'd love to go, im not a huge fan of his although i do like his music, i'll just have to see.

P.S I could have sent you a PM back but i just started writing here and figure i may as well post it here!

Posted by =alphabeta= on Apr-10-2002 09:16:

cheers mate, as i said no hassles...but its good to get
more guys/gals in the forum talkin about stuff we all luv

Posted by OLi_A on Apr-10-2002 11:38:

i wonder how many aussie tranceaddicts there are?
when talking about minorities i think this genre is one of the smallest in australia
good to see there are a few of you around, even though you are just words on a screen

Posted by Ves on Apr-10-2002 12:27:

Welcome!

I hope to see more of you around here.

Posted by webmeister on Apr-10-2002 13:03:

Yeah we are probably one of the smallest minorities here

But damn we can pack out a dance floor lol

Posted by escee on Apr-10-2002 13:56:

ive converted 3 people, girlfriend, and 2 other friends. We shall grow! Shame perth is a such a dnb town. Although, scott bond and pvd in a period of a week isnt too bad, i guess i can live with it.

Seeing metros in perth when tiesto was spinning, it didnt look like trance addicts were in the minority, it was pretty packed and everyone was having a good time.

But yeah, its glad to be able to talk to fellow trance addicts

Posted by Fraggle on Apr-10-2002 14:53:

Welcome to da joint mate. Its good to see more and more ppl are joining. It meanz Trance is spreading around Oz. I don't know any RnB or RapAdDict forums exists on the net but their follower numbers are much greater.

Actually we're not just words on a screen! Some TA's got to meet each other at 2Tribes few weeks back in Melbourne there were 6-7 of us there and it was a delightfull experience. Thanx to Stipsy's genius idea.....

Posted by OLi_A on Apr-10-2002 15:30:

filling dancefloors is one thing, but filling dancefloors with people who genuinely enjoy trance just for the music is another.
i know of heaps of people who go to raves just because its an acceptable place to pop e's because the feeling matches the music.
i dare say people would be poppin e's at the country music festival in tamworth.
thats where the minority lies

giday fellow sandgroper

i know what u mean bout tranceaddict.com being a very friendly environment

compared to teknoscape where every second thread is some form of ignorant/moronic/provocative/racist verbal diorrhea...

Posted by escee on Apr-10-2002 17:09:

The Australian part of the forum is especially friendly. Here there is little to no bashing of styles like in the main forum. I can say this song is good, and not have some one five posts later say;

"No way Thats Commercial Teeny Bopper CHEEZE!"

Or something as equally constructive

Posted by Serp on Apr-11-2002 00:00:

that's pretty true, it's mostly the people who have been on the forum for the longest who are pricks, i guess they think they are gods or something.

Posted by Drifter on Apr-11-2002 01:46:

yeah i second that on what dj dave b.......except starfox, always a fuckin classic with his hello greetings starfox shit....any ways ehhhhh welcome

Posted by SQ-K on Apr-11-2002 11:21:

Agreed -- the trance scene in Melbourne is TRAGIC. Pity I don't really like techno, cos there's some world-class tek DJs in Melbourne (no, not you Wetmusik).

I tell you, what really gets me is when people say trance is dying. I know there's *added stimulation* involved, but when it got down to the business time at TT here, there were 5000 people at Tiesto...

I tell you, it always comes back to trance...

Posted by webmeister on Apr-11-2002 11:45:

Trance as a genre is not dying, its just simply a minority.

Look at the upside, if everyone up here in Syd preferred trance to disco-funk-house-shit, we'd have every second club/bar playing it. When there's only x amount of DJ's who spin trance, all the REALLY crap DJs are gunna start showing up. But at the moment when you go to a trance night you know its gunna be awesome cos the DJ is someone like PvD, Tiesto, Ferry, J00F, etc.

Supported by Aussie DJs who imitate the intl headliner and sound ordinary (yes I am referring to Nik Fish, Bexta et al).

Make the most of what u have, spin ur own

Posted by webmeister on Apr-11-2002 11:49:

Doh forgot to mention .. Dave B u hit the nail on the head with that "supreme TA = supreme ego" comment

Man I wish some of those ppl would relax a bit

*cracks open the tooheys extra dry*

Anyone?

Posted by Serp on Apr-11-2002 12:00:

haha I felt someone needed to bring it to light so i did!
Starfox is a cool guy, talk to him on icq a lot too

I don't actually mind the lack of trance here, that only means there's room for growth, but we must have djs that are knowledgeable about the trance scene overseas such as the netherlands, otherwise they could be bringing cheese trance into light, god save us!

Posted by Simon00 on Apr-11-2002 12:31:

Monkey Dancer 2 webmeister=hit the nail on the head

Yes i totally agree, i could puke if i had to hear another set rolled out the same as every other one by bexta. I swear for at least 2 years every time she played- nearly everything in sydney, it was the same set finishing with scott project "o". Hennes and cold next friday at plastic would be wicked. Sadly every promoter in sydney for some reason thinks a lineup of fish, bexta jumping jack etc is required for people to support the night. Sadly mostly they are right. How about a ta's party one night somewhere. There'd be some wicked vinyl at that event!

Posted by Bottlebrush on Apr-11-2002 14:19:

heh

reminds me of my post here not too long ago

Must agree with everyone, trance is such a small thing here in australia cept for at the major raves

Posted by stamper on Apr-12-2002 08:53:

Oh us Aussies flame a lot, but we make sure to do it in the other forums!
