FUCKING HILARIOUS! Dude, I don't know what to do now, I really wanted to see this. I haven't even seen the second one yet. I'll still probably see it though.

How was it a joke? Can you explain without giving any spoilers? Gonna see it tonight

I mean, I own almost every Spiderman comic in existence so I know how the Venom saga ends. But what makes the movie bad?

Posted by |Thrax| on May-05-2007 02:38:

GO SEE SPIDEY!

It kicks ass, I am actually going back to work to watch it again tonight.

Its not a joke and its not over.. the Venom Saga could have been better but holy sheezballs hes a badass.

What about me paisa? Take the Ref!

Saw an advance screening of it last night...other than a really weak plot, lack of character development, and being too long, it's not bad (the Sandman will blow you away...)

you will pay!

wow it was a bad movie if you were there to watch a serious spiderman movie. Otherwise, this would be on par with Snakes on a Plane

Reasons:
I really didn't like the acting, really wasn't convincing.
Spiderman/Peter Parker was being a crying girl throughout the movie
Venom did not live up to expectations
etc...

I mean, we all know Warner Bros. makes the best movies in the world.. why fight it...

It was a solid action movie.

As far as plot/storyline goes it had it's typical cliche moments, but if the movie was meant to be deep and profound it would've been called 'Schindler's List'. I hope people aren't going to these kinds of movies expecting to be incredibly rivetted.

It's solid action, and some comedy, throughout. Definitely worth checking out ... even if he is Emo-Spidey .

Oh, I forgot it's Sony...it's the best movie I've ever seen x3! Just have three or more drinks of something at least 40 proof and I'm sure you'll agree!

Going to see it on Wed. At the IMAX!

Everyone that said this was a bad movie has never read a Spider-Man comic in their life. Aside from the comic storyline flaws, this movie was spot on. Everyone's complaining that the acting was 'too dramatic', I heard someone in the theater say it was 'too much like a soap opera'. What, exactly, do you think a comic book is?

Awesome movie, loved it. 9/10.

What if the Venom costume consumed you, Bas? What would you do?

Spiderman dies.

SPOILERS

Well I just saw the movie, and felt that overall it was good. Not great, or awesome, but good. A solid B in my opinion.

When it comes to nit picking the film, I can honestly agree with most everyone.

The intro to characters was waaay to simple and rushed. No character development what so ever. The symbiote was just there all of a sudden. Flynt just became Sandman like that. Symbiote Peter could have been darker. UGhh

Harry'samnesia was completely unecessary.

And most of the fight scenes with harry and Sandman were so fast paced, that you really couldnt tell what was going on, till it slowed down a bit. There was a lot of blurr.

Venom, christ, I was glad to see him. But it was not enough. I say he looked good in shots where he was screaming. But during diologue, horrendous. And when ever it came to a close up, the symbio receeded on his face. As if the animators knew it would look bad to have a close up of his full face.

One thing though, the last battle was pretty epic. No real complaints there.

And the end, Im in complete agreement with everyone. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!

How the hell do you bring a character like Venom to film, and kill him?!! Can anyone explain this? The idea is fucking asinine! The limited screen time was painful enough. And they do this. They gotta be shitting me!

I can only sum up the closing scenes with one word. CHEESY!! Sandman goes free!! All because of the weak plot they created for him! And no closure with Peter and MJ......

This is what happends when I nit pick it. But as I said earlier, overall, I believe Raimi did good job considering all that was "crammed" in this movie. It was a hell of a lot better than X3 thats for sure.

First off, it's not 'the Venom' it's the symbiote. Secondly, I'd let it bond itself to me for the power, but I'd sure as hell not let it turn me into a cockbag

edit // And symbiote Spider-Man was never THAT evil

Posted by progressiveMOJO on May-06-2007 01:27:

Venom was portrayed HORRIBLY! What happened to "WE ARE VENOM" and shit, instead of being some former pansy turned semi-evil when he gets power?

I don't feel like nitpicking more, since I've about done it to death elsewhere. Emo-spidey was hilarious, but probably moreso than was intentional. The plot with Harry was predictable and boring. No closure with MJ sucks.

One nerd moment I had: When the Sandman was first trapped in the physics experiment, all I could think of was "Holy Hell that's the opening scene of HALF-LIFE."

I'd give it maybe a B- overall, I was unsatisfied with a lot of it. Worth watching once, for entertainment with friends, but not twice.

I thought in the comic, Eddie Brock was Venom, whos Eddie Brock Jr?

I liked how they made Sandman somewhat accurate though.

I really would like to see them create Kingpin or my favorite Spider man Villan Morbius though.

I also thought Spiderman cried too much in this one. So did everyone else in the audience.

Did Spider man ever team up with Green Goblin though? I thought that was kinda dumb.

Posted by Blake on May-06-2007 17:27:

they focused a little too much on sandman's story. the whole draw of the movie was the black costume and venom, and they kind of wasted it by giving venom only 30 minutes of movie scene and by reeeally downplaying the black costume.

they didn't really emphasize just how much more powerful the black costume made spiderman. in the comics, spiderman could lift a car by himself (no black costume). with the black suit he was supposed to be infinitely stronger. moreover the suit had a mind of its own. if someone were say, coming at spiderman from behind, the suit would attack or move spiderman out of the way on its own. moreover, webbing could come from anywhere on the suit, allowing spidey to say... beat the #$%! out of someone without lifting a finger.

in the movie, the suit pretty much just gave him a temper, and made him a bit more emo.

like so =====> (//_;)

Stay tuned for Spidey 4, can it beat 2 hours and 20 minutes though?

Eddie Brock = Eddie Brock, Jr. And they did Kingping in Dare Devil, it was terrible Agreed about the black suit though, it should have made him way stronger. Also, why does Spider Man not have spider sense in the movie at all? No one can jump Spidey. No one!
