Mine has a mind of it's own too. Even when it's switched off, it still likes to make all these crunking noises. No joke, I need to unplug it to prevent it doing it.

oh that's not the printer. Jake & Stren conspired to put a miniscule webcam inside it. Jake even watches it when he's asleep.
