Croatia
Hello. What's the scene like there? Just wondering as one of my friends is heading there in the summer.
Depends on region... Zagreb, capital of Croatia, has a an alright, regular scene. Dalmatia isn't bad either, but only during summer as far as I know. Vukovar is okay during season (which excludes summer) thanks to Quo Vadis club, but I doubt your friend will go there. Rijeka has the best drum'n'bass scene in Croatia, so I heard. The rest is pretty much not worth mentioning.
Ok thanks. What about in Split?
Not really familiar with it, but I think it's really nothing special. But who knows, Dalmatia (which includes Split) generally gets a lot of parties during summer, obviously because of bunch of tourists so I don't think Split is a bad choice, especially if your friend will be able to visit smaller places around Split.
Depends what you want. Apparently it's pretty techno and hip hop heavy.
Not too much melodic trance.
Shame really. I wanted to go check it out last summer (in Split) but there was nothing that interested me. Ok so I didn't search as well as I could have but still...
From what I heard though you might be able to find some underground parties in certain locations. Pretty tough to find though or so I hear.
I've not been to Croatia in a while now, but there are a few famous places.
Novalja, Pag
this is a place where there's always a party.
Rabac
famous for the summer festival, don't have a line-up for this year though.
Primosten
There's a club called Aurora, kinda famous.
Porec
This is a good city for holiday, there's a few clubs etc..
Crikvenica
I haven't been but it's suppose to be posh night out.
I'm sure there's more with 100 or so islands you can't go wrong, anyway my fav. is Istra, Pula or so, cleanest sea in adriatic and always fun.
Check this site for party schedule http://www.pegla.com
I moved to croatia like 6 months ago, i've been looking for some trance clubs or parties but the scene is pretty much dead in that genre. But if you like electro, house, techno or psy you will be served.
These are also some websites your friend can check for upcoming events in all of croatia.

isn't Dubrovnik a big place of tourists? my sister was there last year and said she loved it, although i have no idea about the club scene
I didn't realize there were so many people familiar with croatia here. I'm headed there this summer and don't know the first thing about the party scene so I'll definitely check out those links.
