Lance Cashion
Slow Motion Music / Proton Radio
Fort Worth, TX
Why has Lance Cashion devoted so much time, energy, and effort to the advancement of electronic music and the development of his skills as a DJ and producer? His reason is rooted in a driving urge to touch his listeners and, in his own words, to communicate a "shared human experience to their souls."
Lance began his career as a DJ in Orlando in 1994 under the influence of the city's progressive house, breakbeat, and trance movement. During this time, he got his first residencies at local clubs such as Icon, Cairo, and the Crocodile Club and had the chance to play at the legendary Firestone.
In 1996, Lance ventured into the studio with producer/remix artist Justin Scott Dixon (a.k.a. Voyager) and emerged with an intelligent breakbeat monster entitled "Sungod," which sold more than 1,500 copies within the first two weeks of its release.
Lance moved to Austin, Texas in the spring of 1999 where he secured a residency at Velvet and began working on a radio show called "The Sound." Eventually, he left the airwaves for the new and global medium of Internet radio by joining Proton Radio.
Recently, Lance had the honor of creating the first ever released compilation for Proton Radio. The compilation is entitled The Sound, and it is a brilliant double-cd mix that pushes contemporary progressive house in a new direction. The Sound showcases Lance's ability to subtly weave progressive house tracks into an inspiring musical tapestry, but he is equally adept at working in other genres such as tech house, electro, minimal techno, or chilled out electronica in general. Words simply will not do justice to the musical interpretations Lance keeps creating.
Lance is continuing his studio work today with Corey Spengler and Blake Potter as The Baggage Handlers. Their last track entitled "VaporTrail" was released on Proton's digital label in June with a stellar remix by Chris Micali (available in our store). Currently, The Baggage Handlers are finishing up their second project called "Part Deux" featuring Voice Roc. As a solo artist, Lance is finishing a track called "Surface to Air," which is set to be the first release on the Slow Motion Music digital label.
Lance has been heavily involved in every aspect of the music he loves. He continues to grow with it, pushing himself to be the best he can be and pushing those around him to do the same. Lance is living the dream that began in Orlando over a decade ago.

LOL @ Midnight Cowboy!!!
I remember jamming to one of those CDs you threw out to the crowd on the way home.
Good stuff.
Thanks for coming to SA. No legitimate venue would be complete without you.

First time I saw Lance was at Cowboys, was very impressed. I think there was more hype about Lance's set than Tiesto's after the show was over

I was brainstorming the flyer and wanted some input:
Lance at the Alamo karate-chopping Mexicans
or
Lance wearing a sombrero riding a donkey
ps. Get your stomach ready for some badass Mexican food.
Lance riding a donkey with a sombrero and stabbing a gringo!
or
Pruning the hedges of many small villages, raping the horses and riding off on the women!!!
LOL
Ready to rock
