asot vs tatw vs gdjb
ive listened in the past to all three, randomly.
my goal this year was to commit myself to one.
i have not missed a gdjb so far this year.
but im beginning to question my choice.
dont get me wrong, i love the broadcast.
but i never listened to tatw or asot regular enough to know what im missing.
which show do you guys keep up with most ??
any thoughts on which show is better, worst, yada yada.
tatw is the least horrible imo, deffinatly the most consistent and solid of the three i think. But then again i've missed probably the las 6 episodes or so, i was getting sick of it, it was getting way too boring. right now im just into podcasts, especially the shake down podcast, really quality trance they show.
GDJB, definitely. It's not as fresh and exciting as it was during the first years but i still enjoy an episode once in a while. It's not bad at all.
ASOT, not any more.
TATW, never listened to a single episode.

TATW -
my top choice of the three. though it plays a lot of anjuna material, sometimes it gets a bit much. i like that there is a guest mix, but i dont like that its justa half hour. i used to love one of the guys id'ing every 2-3 tracks, now it gets a bit bugging, because im just missing out on the mixing (which i think is the main point of a radioshow anyway)
ASOT -
got boring after 274. also, a blatantly out of sort tracklist doesn;t help matters either. it's like he puts whatever he likes wherever he likes, without actually planning it out. i used to love the second hour, but now its really boring. the classic at the end that's introduced lately is a good idea.
GDJB -
least listened, and therefore least preferred show, mostly because of the timing more than anything else. the feature that stands out here is the one hour guest mix. whenever i ve listened to it, i ve been bored, but since i havent heard that many episodes, i wont look too much into that.
one point i d like to make is that tatw has someone on the mic every 2-3 tracks, and recorded samples put in before say a tune of the week or future favourite, which really takes away the point of a radioshow and the mixing aspect.
armin is becoming less and less true to the trance scene, including electro, electro-house and even plain house or pop in his first hour. would prefer asot in the gdjb format, with one hour from armin, and a guest mix from someone else.

voting for 1 of the 4 would be dificult. I like CN (Club Nouveau) quite a lot, though its still quite new. i have to see how it'll evolve
GDJB & ASOT are the ones i dl every week, but dont listen to.
TATW ... not bad @ all ... but also; no time to listen
so for now; CN, since thats the only i listen to (often enough @ least)
I enjoy gdjb. Markus brings a different type of set every week and I think he is the ultimate warm-up DJ for his guests which most djs don't do. I enjoy the irc chat(im Poe) while listening to it as well as there are the same familiar names. It helps that Markus comes and chats with us very frequently.
ASOT has become way too structured and predictable for my tastes. ASOT was great when it had the XXL episodes and the guest mixes. I felt back then that Armin played tracks he loved instead of playing tracks that are expected of him now.
I never got into TATW because I don't like to support producers that think they are DJs. It doesn't bother me when DJs become producers and still DJ but for some reason when a producer starts out producing and then becomes a computer dj it bugs me.

GDJB is the obvious pick for me. Markus feels more free when he choose tunes to drop on the show compared to armin and a&b. I used to listen both to TATW and ASOT but they've gotten way to boring for me.
GDJB because markus is a G.
ASOT is boring
TATW is boring + 1
Plus ive only been played on ASOT once and i've never been on TATW, and im on GDJB almost every episode
.
Actually I listen to the beginning of asot almost everytime cus its more proggy. But then it just gets faster and boring.

gdjb by far. markus always has a varied and interesting mix of tracks. and his guest is usually the type that bores asot whores.
GDJB: Markus seems to put more into his mixes than the other two shows. I do agree though that the show was better in the old days (like when on Party 93.1 in Miami). I guess that the same could be said for all shows though?
ASOT: Armin seems to keep playing more and more of this Jennifer Rene/ Light The Skies/ Electro House/ trance knock off each episode.
TATW: Love the boys at A&B but a couple of hours of all Anjuna stuff gets old fast.
My pick = none of the above.
i am not able to listen to these shows when they broadcast.
the one i like the most is gdjb... i used to download some sets. i have one set of tatw and probably 6 or 7 of gdjb (sets from 2005 and 2006) since i haven't heard a broadcasted show in months...the last one i heard was gdjb with markus and james zabiela... or the one with markus and signalrunners (whichever one was the most recent)
i never even heard asot until a friend of mine (a big armin fan) convinced me to listen to one this year. i need to get on my game and retrieve more sets of gdjb though... i've been slacking.
Broadcast all the way for me
