Wet Grooves / World Party / Thieves / Don't Support These Idiots

I have to say that anyone who supports the World Party, Wet Grooves, or any of their affiliations are contributing to thieves. Over WMC 2007, they paid almost none of the talent at the 5 or more events they produced in Miami. Those of you who paid their overpriced tickets were contributing to their pocketbooks and most of the amazing talent never got paid. This is being taken to court and I wanted to make everyone aware of this. They also do events in Dallas and also trying to do them in San Francisco. If you love the music, please support legit promoters who pay their talent and don't make excuses.

BOTTOM LINE IS THEY DO OK PARTIES, BUT THE TALENT ARE NEVER PAID. SAD PEOPLE WHO ARE DESTROYING THE SCENE. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO CONTACT BACK AND MAKE EXCUSES. OK, I AM DONE WITH MY TANGENT.

If you're going to sling accusations, then you need to present more than "a lot of great artists were screwed over"... You could totally be telling the truth, but for people to pass up events based on some empty statements is a bit far fetched

Because of the legalities, I can't say anymore. It will all come out in due time. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this guy and his tactics.

Im shocked. Wetgrooves throws the best events in Dallas and many of the best during wmc. They also have a cruise thing going on and what not. Seems like you know whats going on, but this is a shame. Sad to see this be true.

Have you ever been to one of his events in Dallas? They fu cking blow. The talent is good but the vibe is wack. Bunch of 18 yr. old spuntards glowstick warring and giving massages. Best events in Dallas, give me a freaking break.

No ive never been but i get the flyers on myspace and they always book solid artists - trance! Not many still specialize in trance and wetgrooves dallas does. Who cares what the crowd is like, point is they bring the artists. crowd isnt their fault.

hmmm, well it's obvious you just signed up to tell us this...since you are posting from an anonymous alt just tell us the story. then you get some credibility.

Actually, the crowd is a direct result of the people they promote to.

Who cares what the crowd is like? Well, for one, the people who pay money to see the Dj's.

I understand where "theworldpartysux" has to say. I still haven't gotten paid from WMC and I danced at 5 parties, coordinated, and made sure all the gogos did their job. I worked my ass for 3 days straight, day and night. It's extremely frustrating because I really needed the money and I've tried to contact Steve several times about it. Finally I got ahold of his partner because I was left in the dark for so long wondering where my money was at. I still don't have it.......I don't know if I will ever get it.

However, I am aware of wetgrooves' situation with some of the venues in Miami withholding money from them. So in order for us artists/performers to get paid, they need to get paid as well. Their issues with venues is not our problem, shit needs to be handled because it's really effecting Wetgroove's reputation. I had a great time dancing at the parties, and the guys who were handling everything were totally cool. I just wish I get my money soon because it completely effected my financial situation. Hopefully it will all work out whatever the story may be. I don't want to come across as slandering but I'm so frustrated and hope things come around very soon.

I am sorry to hear you are in the same situation as a lot of others are in with Wet Grooves. The fact is that communication is the key in situations like this and hiding/ignorning people he contracted only makes things worse. If you speak to people and keep them updated, then it doesn't escalate to getting on boards and being talked about. What is even more crazy is that he is not paying people, but still throwing events. No respect for others. Very selfish and self centered if you ask me....... How can you support people who work this way?
