CD Players... which one?

Right, I've finally figured I can't survive as a DJ playing mainly Vinyl, and (shattered) have decided to buy a pair of CD players.

Is there anything better than the Pioneer mark 3 out there... or is that pretty much it?

Yeah but I think he's asking if there's anything better than a CDJ 1000 MK3, and the answer is no, not really. There's countless threads about what CD players to get, and what ones are better, but in truth, there really is nothing "better" because they are the top of the line. The only one that might be even more top of the line would be the DVJ 1000s.

Yes, my question was whether there's anything better than the MK 3..
Anybody know Denon well? Have they come out with a player that allows you to directly connect your hard drive to the CD player?

If yes, any opinions on whether Pioneer is likely to come out with something similar?

Please use the search button, this topic has been covered thousands of times and the general consensus is that the Pioneer CDJ series is unquestionably the winner.

And hooking up your hard drive to your CDJ? The only way you're capable of accomplishing that is through something like Serato, which can be used on any CD and vinyl turntable.

Fair enuf. the Pioneer MK3 wins.

But i also found something interesting from Denon... where you CAN connect your hard drive directly to a controller... take a look

Better then the mk3???? Hummmm simple answer: MK2!!!!

MK3 still have some software problems, the tempo doesn't stay at the same rate which is quite annoying when mixing because you have to adjust your pitch all the time.

i hear loads of dj's complaining. Some big time djs have stated in their riders that they don't want MK3's but MK2's.

Utter shite.

Upgrade the firmware and the BPM counters remain on the rail.

No, I live in a country that has 1.2 billion people, and not a single record store.

I still DJ twice a week, and I still buy all my music, instead of getting tunes on p2p.

By the time vinyl gets to me, it costs almost 12-15 pounds a record.... so it's not that i got lazy, I got tired of buying tunes based on 1'30" samples that ended up being a waste of money.
