This should be fantastic. Forum = best venue in Melbourne imo & is such a perfect place for a gig like this.
Finally going to get to see Shadow live as the last three times or whatever he's been in Melbourne i've been otherwsie engaged
Daddy G on the lineup made the decision even easier.
Saw him last year with Mos Def. Awesome awesome show. Didn't really like his new stuff but meh, the visuals n the classics make up for it. Considering he hasn't done anything new since he was last out here, I would expect a pretty similar performance...which means if you're not sure about going....fucking go!!!
man, i really want to go to this, but don't have the cash: too expensive...
the forum is THE shit, saw Xavier Rudd pwn the joint there
Yeah, it's perfect for things that are a little left of field. Shame the Glam parties trashed the place years ago, they don't really aloow 'dance events' there anymore from what i understand. Got some of my most old skool memories from the forum seeing Cold Cut there in like '96 or something. Grand Master Flash there a few years ago was awesome also & the amount of people who talk about Shadow's gig there years ago still astounds me.
Almost sold out from what The Stable tell me.
They'e also added Gift of The Gab (from Blackalicious) who will be performing with Shadow. Didn't realize until I was told today but he was one of the collaborators on Endtroducing... Maybe this will end up being the old skool show that everyone keeps asking for!
Agreed. The Forum is by far the best venue in Melbourne, NERD were soooo good there.
I am still undecided about this I dont really want to pay $85 for a really ambient sound. Will it be just like the DVD?
Will anyone swap me a ticket for my Guns and Roses one?
I thought this clashed with We Love Sounds aswell! and it doesnt so its a real possibility.
(God I need to stop drinking so much coffee).
End ranting for now.
Last night was off da hook apparently.
Can't wait for tomorrow. Setup looks very cool!

So???
twitter is down again.

Great night.
Shadow is the coolest motherfucking cat on the planet when he's up there behind the decks. Humble, appreciative & so amazingly talented.
Best production i've ever seen - i hope The Head manages to get a look at the visual stuff Shadow had (i think you can download stuff from the concerts athis website) as it was amazing.
Disappointed now that Daddy G was replaced with Gift of The Gab to be honest though. Didn't really think much of his section. I guess i was feeling more like trip-hop than hip-hop last night.
Shadow took things up a level in the last section however. Organ Donor destoryed the place & he finished with a bunch of old UNKLE tracks which had me getting sentimental
Nice.
Did you see Dexter? How was Mike Hunt?
Dexter was extremely average. I wasn't even sure if it was him at one point. They were not able to do the whole show with his new act becasue of space requierements (there are like 30 dancers or something on Tuesday which would not fit for the sellout), so i think it was all a little watered down.
Was not able to get there for Mike Hunt as he was too early. Spent most of the night on the floor with him however and it sounds like he went ok. Apparently the transition between himself and flagrant was 'interesting', but that's a story for another time
