How to make all music on your PC sound TWICE as good instantly.

I've been recommending this program to several people and was surprised how few know about it. It is the DFX Audio Enhancer.

LINK

Just download the version for your preferred music player (Winamp, Realplayer, etc), and it starts up automatically when you play anything. The free version limits the slider movement to 5 (halfway), but it still makes a huge difference in sound quality on PC speakers.

I recommend using the default "Music 2" option with the 'dynamic boost' and 'fidelity' settings turned up to 5. This makes most types of trance sound awesome!

Feel free to experiment and find your own settings.

DFX 8

Ummm... Sorry I prefer to listen to my music in the pure unmodified form that the producer intended bar a few small adjustments on the EQ settings.

No.

That's not going to make the sound any better, it's only going to colour the mix, which is going to give you a false image of how the sound actually is.

You can't magically enchance the sound you get out of your computer with gimmicks like this, it's all dependent on the system you're using and the source material you have.

Well, you just said everything I probably meant but in an understandable form.

This program is like the electric superchargers for cars that turned out to be a computer fan to be spinning in the intake. +600hp!!!

Well, if you like everything getting drowned in reverb then you're going to love this. I didn't know "fidelity" and "ambience" could be controlled with sliders before now

Posted by Capitalizt on May-12-2007 14:21:

ah, I knew the hardcore audiophiles would hate this...but I think most casual trance fans will appreciate it. The bass enhancement is terrific...and the surround sound option is very nice for slower ambient music. It may not be exactly what the producer intended, but the effect is generally favorable.

Try listening to a few of your favorite tunes, and press the "power" button off and on a few times.

I just can't go back listening without the enhancement...but to each his own.

Why did you have to delete and repost that?

Posted by Capitalizt on May-12-2007 14:46:

because I'm a perfectionist

Posted by Mr.Mystery on May-12-2007 14:46:

If you were you wouldn't be needing a program like this.

Posted by Capitalizt on May-12-2007 14:55:

I knew that would be your response, lol.

This is my last post in this thread. I hope you "normal" music fans enjoy the program!

Worth a try.

my 320kbps music will upscale to 640kbps?

I prefer to listen to music the way the artist intended it, hence mixed it. If your speakers sound like crap, get better speakers.

What's next, watching movies with coloured sunglasses on?

Posted by iammesol on May-12-2007 15:30:

I like the bass booster... that's about it.

It will never make Selu Vibra - Divine sound any good.

Sounds great now. Tune of the year for certain. Can't believe I ever lived without this program.

I absolutely love a bit of virtual3D applied to my music when listening over headphones.

Posted by idoru on May-12-2007 22:07:

How people actually believe in this is beyond me.

Posted by Gauss on May-12-2007 23:23:

I've been using DFX for quite some time now and I can't imagine listening to music without it anymore.

Edit: Say whatever you want, I don't care, it makes music sound (even) better, period.

Amen!

Nothing beats a nice pair of studio monitors and a decent soundcard.

And screw non-320kbps mp3s... I'm glad the age of 128 (and 192 more and more) crap quality songs is coming to an end with the advent of faster, larger storage technologies.

Too bad that half of the world is now conditioned to enjoy low-quality, over-compressed dithered music and has no real sense of quality.

I have a program that turns all boring melodies into beautiful and interesting ones, and makes all bad singers sound good.

But it is mine, all mine!
