Workin for beatport.

Anyone work for beatport (preferably as a programmer but its not that important)? I am thinking about changing jobs and it would be awesome to have my work tied to my hobby (however distantly).

PS sorry if this is in the wrong place for this.

I always pictured Beatport being run by a nerd from his parents basemant for some reason.

Well I would agree with you accept, I know what it takes to run an enterprise level web application like the one they run. Serving thousands of songs a second to rabid patrons, salivating for the next new release and screaming murder if the system even smells funny, is a difficult proposition.

Unforgiving would be the word.

I have met lil mike from beatport. I had a friend that was going to work for them but beatports relocation package and my friends expectations werent matching up. He would have been working out of Denver.

If you do work for them. Get them to scrap Flash

The Flash makes previewing tracks really easy and fast. Would you rather have half-assed pop-ups like the other sites?

Yes, but without that stupid graphic and bullshit loading system.

OP - Go work for Ableton. They are always looking for people in Germany or the US.

Beatport has hands-down the best previewing system of any site, which is why I use it so much. It's so easy to hear a track , not like it after 3 seconds, and click on the next one down and hear that instantly.
