I started this track as a trance tune but it evolved. Justed started it yesterday. Comments please on track and Genre?

I know the original by Genesis, not keen on that and I have to say that this track does nothing to change my mind.

The mix down is ok, but you need to work a lot on your percussion, at the moment it's very lifeless.

Also your choice of sounds is very bland (Sorry I hope I don't upset you).
If you go to KVR Audio there are so many plug ins and things available for free in case you don't have much in the way of sounds.

How do I use plugins? I went to the site but I do not understand. Do I need the specific plug in to use the sounds or can I download the backs and use them in my samplers in Reason. Sorry for the rookie question

Ah, didn't realise or missed the fact that you are a reason user. Ok in that case it wont work, but kvr audio and plenty of other sites have many reason patches that should teach you a whole lot about the use of sound. Should also provide some good inspiration.
