ahh...the funny thing is no one likes edm in baltimore yet they can find sponsors to make it happen there

maybe if the owner of redbull buys the montreal canadiens like he wants, we have a chance.

for the most part ...alcohol sponsors are super cheap compared the massive lumps of money B&H used to give.

I don't know...the gangsters and the highest murder rate in america have kind of left the city off my to do list

you're talking about clicks? lol

There is a reason why John Hopkins Medical Center has the best gun shot wound trauma unit in the world

I'm talking about Deep House.. I don't care about gangsters and shit like that, what I do know is there is some ill deep house coming out of the Baltimore/DC area....

They dance to the slow deep house like we dance to the slower tech house/minimal...

Btw enjoyed your mix thingie... nice swishy percussion and some solid basslines. Much more dancefloor material than people might realize... on a system I can heard that shit going offfff.

Its in MD. Damn!!!

If its an 18+ thing I am so there!

Posted by RoOmIE on May-17-2007 03:08:

virgin mobile should do something in montreal...

they seem to sponsor BIG events ... and it would get their phone company a bigger name in canada ... or quebec... more visibility ...

and this isn't the first party i see them sponsor ...

I just had an interview in Baltimore over the weekend. The place is a shithole and it sucks. Even if it had the best deep house in the world, it isn't worth living there. Recently, they are trying to declare their own version of "Martial Law Lite":
http://www.wtop.com/?nid=25&sid=1143112

108 homicides in 4 months for a city of around 600,000. I stopped downtown during rush hour for a bite to eat and all I saw was scariness. And what is up with everyone limping?

Once I left, traffic on the beltway and on I-70W was ridiculous. Stop and go for over an hour. There are many people who work along the beltway (not even in the city- most companies have left downtown Baltimore) and still live 60 or more miles away from where they work, hence the bad traffic all along I-70W.

I'm curious though, where is the ill deep house coming from in Baltimore? I used to go to a place called Sonar Lounge, which I still think has some stuff going on. Buzzlife used to run Redwood Trust, but they pulled out when one of their main promoters was murdered, unsolved till this day. DC has mainly a lounge scene from what I hear these days, as Nation has closed its doors. My inkling is that most of the deep house is coming from the DC rather than Baltimore area, at venues such as Five and Fur.

As for the event they are having in August, its true Baltimore is mainly a hip hop city, but it will draw enough people from Philly down to Richmond, VA to support having the few big name djs. As you may know, Philly and NoVa don't really have any clubs or attract any Djs other than the occasional drumnbass or breaks night, so this event will probably be well attended by the masses.
