Careers

Some of us are still in high school while some have already graduated.

Personally I'm looking to go to Baruch College, and after that it would be nice to get a job as an Investment Banker . The job pays a shitload, just look at these numbers: Average starting salary: $134,000 Average salary after 5 years: $300,000 Average salary after 10 to 15 years: $1,000,000

What career are you looking to pursue in life?

it's great that you know what career you want after you graduate from college. at least your mind is set on what you want to do in your future. i see kids around my neighborhood that are in high school, and have no idea what they want to be. but hopefully, you will understand that your future does not lie on "how much money" you have, but if the job makes you happy in life.

i have learned the hard way thinking money will bring you happiness, but at the end, i found out it just brings pain and suffering.

btw, i am a software developer.

I want to be a linguist or, if all else fails, a porn actor.

I hope my parents don't find out about it, though. It would be a shame for them to have a linguist in the family

(Barely) graduated from highschool last year. Doing a BA now, probably going to major in Philosophy. Will either go on to do post-grad, do another degree that will actually get me a job (lol), try get a job of some sort in intelligence (which is apparently one of the few area's outside of academia which hires philosophy majors) or try my hand at writing, which I've been meaning to do since I was 10 or so.

Just and FYI... no one in the real world gives a rat's ass what your BA is in (unless you're going into a highly speciallized field). A BA in Philosophy will get you the same job as a BA in History/sociallism/psychology/gameboy/etc.
