Kind of an odd sight
This morning I got up to go for a run and outside there was a foggy layer of smoke wisping about everywhere. I didn't quite know where it was coming from and thought it odd because there's a burning ban in place where I live. Then I get online to weather.com to see when it's going to rain today and it shows

I guess those wildfires in the south eastern portion of my state has finally started billowing up here
oh, and this book cover crept me out yesterday.

can't explain it. maybe the fires ?
reminds me of when iw as due to fly back from palma de mallorca and the entire airport was covered in thick fog, yet nowhere else in the vicinity or anywhere was, it was like confined to the runway areas and caused a 2hr delay on all planes before it burnt off at midday. freaky as hell

With pressure @ 30.01 and falling and winds out of the WSW I'd expect that smoke not to stay down unless there is an inversion and really light winds. There may be a thin layer of smoke overall from the fires you're saying are blowing through, but I'd watch it over night if the winds die back down. Expect a few accidents and slow traffic on major roads if thats the case. Its not a bad idea to keep a ventilation mask in your car. You never know if the pollens/wood/etc that will be blowing in from the fires might trigger a previously unknown allergy.
Florida has been in a haze the last week, but you dont see me making threads about it...

| Originally posted by Demoted Thanks, Kirk. But I'm flying up to Michigan tomorrow, so I won't be around for any other smoky days for about a week. Maybe by then they will have vanquished the gypsy curse down below. |
