Note Input VST?

I've heard of a note input feature in Cubase, but I'm using ableton.
Basicaly it allows you to make your own arpegios, by using the keyboard to input notes, in your own time.
I know I can do the same thing using the pencil, but i thought this would be a great tool to have.
Does it exist, and if so where would i find such a thing?

eh... what do you mean? like in cubase you would play C3 and it would make an arp?

you can basicaly use your keyboard to input notes into the sequencer, step by step. You would use it to make ARPS, yes.
Similiar to the way you would program a 303.

I don't know if this would be helpful to you, or if it's even what you're looking for as a solution, but it might be to someone else browsing:

Track 1 (1 MIDI):

Record a chord sequence.

Set 'MIDI To' to 'Track 2 (2 MIDI)'

Drop Arpeggiator MIDI effect into Track 1 (1 MIDI)

Track 2 (2 MIDI)

Throw your favorite instrument here.

'Monitor' to 'In'

Arm Track 2, then play chord progression from Track 1 and record a clip in Track 2.

Now you have a MIDI clip that's a recorded arp, that you can now edit by hand to make sound a BIT more human.

(Even more fun):

On your chord progression clip, create an envelope to control the arp gate. Can make for some easy to create swells without introducing reverb, I guess.

Set arp Rate to 1/32 (Sets baseline to 1/32 in Envelope). Edit the Synced Rate Envelope. Two steps up from the base is 1/16. Dip the line to 1/32 periodically from 1/16.

Well, I dunno if this is worth anything, because I just thought of it today. Maybe I'm doing something that's been done plenty before. All I know is that it's kinda fun, and you can stumble on some cool patterns.

i use the arpegiator insert on the midi channel and adjust the arp from there..

It records the notes as you press them, but the recording position only moves 1 step forward, and waits for you to press the next note, or insert empty space.
Black sun empire mentioned it as something they use in Cubase to write their own arps. I want one

im pretty sure theres nothing in the vst standard that lets a plugin controll the host transport... so yeah it's basically not possible.

Use can use Revisit, which is a tracker-like VST that outputs both audio and midi afaik.
