for the love of God
please post some thoughtful quote or reflection, idiom, that you've recently come across or entertained in your minds.
After purchasing this art poster:
...and being quite fond of it, I decided to read up on the artist, namely, Asher Brown Durand. His remark about nature is indelible, beautiful.
To quote Wiki: Durand wrote, "Let [the artist] scrupulously accept whatever [nature] presents him until he shall, in a degree, have become intimate with her infinity...never let him profane her sacredness by a willful departure from truth."
Best quote I've heard in a while:
'Never argue with an idiot. Not only will they drag you down to their level... but they will easily beat you with experience.'
"We cannot change the past, but we can change the future with limited tools and words that we have been given."
Paul Rusesabagina

The mind is like a parachute - it works only when it is open.
"In the end..it's not the years in your life that count. But the life in your years.."
*points to the sig*

Fine words and an insinuating appearance are seldom associated with true virtue.
No fancy words, just another neat painting

"You're in London, working at McDonalds getting a standard minimum wage, 4.50 an hour. Then, you look out the fucking window, and the parking meter outside takes 5 quid an hour. That parking meter is making more money per hour than you."

"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Moving, be like water. Still, be like a mirror. Respond like an echo."

My favorite is something along the lines of:
"Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool then to open it and remove all doubt."
I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.
In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

"Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."
"The reason I dont play ballads? Because I love to play them." - Miles Davis
"Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."
