newb

Oh wow,
I have not been on any message boards since the Eminem boards in 2002-2003, haha, crazy!

I am Stacy.
Obviously, I am a newbie.
I have listened to all sorts of techno for a while now...
but now I AM ADDICTED. I don't know what it is but I just cannot ever stop listening to it. I have definitely gained the understanding of it.
Since I am new to just getting into techno [trance mostly] I would like some help. I would like to know all those other badass artist out there. I don't know as much all of you but please show me.

First things first Stace, it's EDM (electronic dance music) to which you're referring, not 'techno'. Techno is a type of EDM just as trance and house are, but it isn't the all-encompassing music genre many people mistakingly use it to mean. Just an FYI, as most people on this board, and music enthusiasts in general, scoff at such a use of the word Techno... it's a pop culture *gag* thing

Welcome to the world of EDM though, sounds like you're going to love it too

Hello.Welcome to the TA forums. You like trance you say huh?Don't know how much stuff you've listened to at this point. My suggestion is go out and buy a mix cd or two. That way you'll be exposed to very good mixes, not only that. But you'll have a track list therefore you'll be able to dig up more tracks by those producers and that'll web out into you finding more producers and or Djs you'll like. Here is a small list of cds i would suggest.Although old nowadays it will let you see the early roots of the large tree now formed:

Paul Oakenfold: (Tranceport,Perfecto presents Another world)
Armin Van Buuren: (Universal Religion Chapter 1)
DJ Tiesto: (Magik vol.7:Live in Los Angeles)

That's trance. If your looking for other electronica(EDM) i have many other suggestions as well.

Just don't listen to anything from Cory (Benjamin D) or Matt (Progress Ent.). There are subliminal messages embedded in their mixes telling you how gay they are.

Welcome Stacy!

So good to see another chicka here! This place is crawling with horny boys. lol

And good luck with the addiction, it's over whelming at first. Just absorb as wide of a range as you can and then focus on the kinds you like.

I love www.di.fm and listen to the trance station. you'll get the mainstream trance right there.

One of my core philosophies is that, through hatred, one can accomplish anything!

I find this philosophy fundamentally sound, which is why I adopted it years ago.
